  • Andrey Rublev Enjoys Epic New York City Experience Before US Open Singles Tournament Begins

Andrey Rublev Enjoys Epic New York City Experience Before US Open Singles Tournament Begins

Andrey Rublev made the most of his limited downtime before the 2026 US Open by attending Harry Styles’ concert at Madison Square Garden.

Tennis players spend much of the year traveling between tournaments, leaving little time to explore the cities they visit. The week before the US Open can offer a brief chance to relax despite extensive media commitments. While players such as Iga Swiatek have attended Broadway shows, Rublev experienced a potentially once-in-a-lifetime evening watching the global pop star perform at MSG.

Andrey Rublev attends Harry Styles concert

It is unclear whether other players attended the concert, but Rublev appeared to enjoy the night. A video from the event was shared by @trackandcourt on TikTok.

Styles is performing a 30-show residency at Madison Square Garden through Oct. 31 as part of his Together, Together tour.

Rublev attended the concert on Saturday, the same night his coach, Marat Safin, watched Roger Federer’s induction at the International Tennis Hall of Fame.

Andrey Rublev’s 2026 US Open draw

With the weekend festivities over, Rublev has turned his attention to the US Open. His first-round opponent is Finnish player Otto Virtanen, ranked No. 109 in the ATP rankings.

Rublev is the No. 23 seed at this year’s tournament. The 28-year-old has recorded his best Grand Slam results at the US Open, reaching the quarterfinals in 2017, 2020, 2022 and 2023.

The quarterfinal stage has proved to be Rublev’s biggest obstacle. He has reached the quarterfinals, but never the semifinals, in men’s singles at each Grand Slam tournament.

Rublev’s fans will hope 2026 is the year he breaks through at the US Open. He reached the mixed doubles semifinals with Mirra Andreeva last week, which could provide an encouraging sign heading into the singles tournament.

Victoria Beckham’s Lookalike Niece Takes on Special Role for Cousin Cruz’s Milestone Performance

Victoria Beckham’s rarely seen niece, Libby Adams, played a special role in her cousin Cruz Beckham’s festival debut at Reading and Leeds over the weekend.

Cruz Beckham, 21, performed with his band The Breakers at Reading on Saturday and Leeds on Sunday. His parents, David and Victoria Beckham, attended the Reading performance alongside two of his siblings, Romeo, 23, and Harper, 15.

For the milestone shows, Cruz enlisted the help of his photographer cousin Libby Adams, the 28-year-old daughter of Victoria’s younger sister, Louise Adams. Libby joined the band’s European and US tour as its official photographer.

David and Victoria shared photographs of Cruz performing on social media on Monday. The images were taken by Libby and showed the singer during different parts of his tour.

Victoria posted a photograph of Cruz wearing a red shirt and jeans, apparently taken during his Reading set, which she watched from the side of the stage with David. She wrote: “Congratulations on an amazing tour, we are so proud of you”

David shared a black-and-white image of Cruz holding a guitar, which appeared to have been taken during an earlier tour performance. He captioned the photograph: “When you see your son doing something he loves,” and thanked Libby “for capturing this”. He also praised Victoria’s niece as “amazing”.

  • Eli Tomac Announces Retirement After 17 Seasons and Eight SuperMotocross Championships

After 17 professional seasons racing dirt bikes, Eli Tomac has announced his retirement from the SuperMotocross World Championship.

“I will be stepping away from Supercross and motocross racing at the end of September, following the final three SMX rounds,” Tomac said in a news release. “This has been the hardest decision I’ve ever made in my professional career, but I know in my heart that the time is now and that the time is right. I’ve won races and championships beyond my imagination. Racing has been the only thing I’ve woken up to and known the last 25 years, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything.”

Tomac, 33, finished his career with eight championships across Supercross and Pro Motocross. He won his first title in the 250 SX class in 2012 before claiming another 250 championship in the 2013 Pro Motocross series.

His first of four 450 Motocross championships came in 2017, followed by titles in 2018, 2019 and 2022. Tomac also won the 2020 and 2022 Supercross championships.

He came within one round of a ninth overall championship in 2023, when he ruptured his Achilles tendon during the penultimate Supercross race on his hometown track in Denver.

Tomac continued competing at championship level

Tomac remained a championship contender in his final season. He won the opening two rounds of the 2026 Supercross season in Anaheim and San Diego, and sat third in the championship standings with four rounds remaining.

Only 15 points separated Tomac from leader Hunter Lawrence when Tomac suffered a hip injury during qualifying for the inaugural Cleveland Supercross race.

Tomac ends his career second on the all-time 450 Supercross wins list with 57 victories, behind Jeremy McGrath. He ranks fourth in all-time 450 Motocross wins with 32, trailing Ricky Carmichael, Ryan Dungey and Rick Johnson.

His accomplishments also include helping the United States return to the top of the podium at the 2022 Motocross of Nations at RedBud MX Park. It was the country’s first victory in the prestigious race in more than a decade, with the U.S. dominating Team France and the rest of the field.

“For those of us who had the privilege of watching Eli Tomac’s entire career, what stands out most isn’t just the victories, championships, or records. It’s the authenticity,” said Dave Prater, Vice President of Supercross for Feld Motor Sports in a news release. “Eli never chased attention, never tried to be something he wasn’t, and let his riding speak louder than words ever could. Fans didn’t just respect him, they loved him because he was real. “Through every triumph, setback, comeback, and unforgettable battle, he carried himself with humility, grit, and class. Legends are defined by more than trophies; they’re defined by the impact they leave on a sport and its people. Eli Tomac didn’t just become a champion, he became an icon whose legacy will inspire riders and fans for generations. Thank you, Eli, for an incredible ride.”

Tomac concluded his Pro Motocross career with one final top-five finish at last weekend’s Ironman National. He was credited with fifth overall after moto finishes of seventh and fifth.

Tomac finished between 2026 Motocross champion Hunter Lawrence, who placed fourth overall with moto results of eighth and fourth, and Jett Lawrence, who was sixth overall after finishing 11th and third in the motos.

“Never before in our sport have we had a competitor who was so good, for so long,” said Davey Coombs, President of MX Sports Racing. “Eli Tomac won the first professional race he ever entered, the 2010 Hangtown National, and then all these years later he began his final season with a win at the 2026 Anaheim Supercross opener. Throughout all of those seasons, Tomac performed at the absolute highest level of SMX, showing a versatility and staying power that’s rare in any form of professional sport. He also carried himself in a manner that’s earned him the deep respect of his competitors and everyone in the paddock, making him a role model for all. “Our sport was fortunate to have Eli Tomac’s presence on the starting gate over so many years; his leadership as well as all of his championships will resonate for generations to come.”

    Three SuperMotocross races remain

Fans have three more opportunities to watch the future Hall of Famer race live during the 2026 SuperMotocross Playoffs. The series begins September 12 at Historic Crew Stadium, continues September 19 at Dignity Health Sports Park in Los Angeles, California, and concludes with the SMX Final on September 26 at Thunder Ridge Nature Arena in Ridgedale, Missouri.

With momentum from Ironman, Tomac could still have a chance to win a ninth SuperMotocross championship.

    Eli Tomac career highlights

    • Two-time AMA Supercross 450SX Champion: 2020, 2022
    • 57 career 450SX Main Event victories, second all-time

  • Argentina Legend Lionel Messi Announces International Retirement

Argentina Legend Lionel Messi Announces International Retirement

Lionel Messi Announces Retirement from Argentina’s National Team

Lionel Messi announced Monday that he is retiring from international soccer and stepping down from Argentina’s national team at age 39.

In an Instagram post featuring a handwritten notebook entry in Spanish, Messi confirmed his decision. A footnote at the end of the post read: “*I wrote these words on July 21st, two days after the final. Today, after what happened with my dad, I am even more convinced than before.”

Messi’s father, Jorge Messi, died Aug. 8 at a hospital in Rosario, a city in central Argentina. He was 68.

Messi played in six World Cups, won the tournament with Argentina in Qatar in 2022 and led the country to the 2026 final, where Argentina lost to Spain.

    Messi’s retirement announcement

“After the time that has passed since the final, and after giving it a lot of thought, I want to let everyone know that I am retiring from the Argentina national team…”

It was a decision that hurt — and still hurts deep down — but I understand that the time has come. I swear to you that I always gave it my all — not just in these last few years when we won everything, but before that too; I always fought and left everything on the field for this jersey, to bring you joy and make you feel proud to be Argentine through football.

“Time is running short, chapters come to a close, and this is one that hurts me deeply. I love, have loved, and will always love being part of the national team. I’ve given everything I had; I have nothing left to give, and besides, there are some great young players coming up who deserve to be here.”

“Thank you for all the affection over these past 20 years. I will miss hearing you from the pitch so much. Now I’ll be just one of you, cheering and supporting from the outside (through the good times and the bad — especially the bad).”

“Thank you to my family for always being there, for accompanying me on this journey — so beautiful, yet so difficult. Thank you to every coach, teammate, and official I’ve shared this path with. I take with me unforgettable memories and moments.”

“I leave with the peace of mind and pride of having given you — alongside my teammates — moments we once only dreamed of. It was an incredible experience to live this with you all. I love you!”

“Thank you, God, for making me Argentine.”

    “Let’s go, Argentina!”

“*I wrote these words on July 21st, two days after the final. Today, after what happened with my dad, I am even more convinced than before.”

    Messi’s Argentina record

Messi is one of Argentina’s greatest soccer heroes, alongside Diego Maradona. The Argentina captain is the country’s all-time leading scorer and most-capped player, with 124 goals in 203 appearances for the national team.

He is also the highest-scoring man in South American soccer history.

When Messi led Argentina to the 2022 World Cup title, it was the country’s first championship in 36 years and its third overall.

Before that triumph, Messi played a key role in ending Argentina’s 28-year trophy drought. He helped the team win the 2021 Copa América and then claim the tournament again in 2024.

Messi had previously announced his international retirement in 2016 after captaining Argentina in three consecutive finals without winning any of them. He reversed that decision soon afterward and went on to lead the country to its World Cup victory.

  • Is Costco Stock an Obvious Buy Right Now?

Is Costco Stock an Obvious Buy Right Now?

Costco Wholesale (NASDAQ: COST) has delivered strong returns for long-term investors. Over the past five years, Costco stock has gained 110%, outperforming the S&P 500’s 73% return. However, the shares have been roughly flat over the past year, while the index has risen 19%. Valuation has been a key factor behind that underperformance.

    Costco’s business remains strong

Costco’s underlying business continues to perform well. Third-quarter sales increased 11.6% year over year, while comparable-store sales rose 6.6% after excluding the effects of gasoline prices and currency fluctuations in international markets.

The warehouse retailer is also growing across several important areas. E-commerce sales climbed 21% year over year, Costco set new records for fuel volume, and it increased member value by lowering prices on staples such as eggs and beef.

    Costco stock valuation remains elevated

Valuation is the main issue weighing on Costco stock. The shares traded at a price-to-earnings multiple of about 60 roughly a year ago. Although that premium has since narrowed, Costco still trades at approximately 47 times trailing earnings, above its 10-year average of around 40.

At its current price, Costco is not an obvious buy. Investors may be better served by waiting for the stock to move closer to its historical valuation, or potentially below it. Buying now carries the risk of owning an excellent business while its valuation is reduced further and the shares continue to lag the broader market.

Should you buy Costco stock now?

Costco remains a high-quality business with strong sales growth, resilient membership economics, and expanding digital operations. However, its elevated earnings multiple limits the margin of safety for new investors. A more attractive entry point could emerge if the stock’s valuation moves closer to its long-term average.

The Motley Fool Stock Advisor analyst team has identified what it believes are the 10 best stocks for investors to buy now, and Costco Wholesale was not included among them. The selected companies are positioned for long-term growth and could deliver significant returns in the coming years.

Stock Advisor cites past recommendations including Netflix on December 17, 2004, when a $1,000 investment would have grown to $440,710, and Nvidia on April 15, 2005, when the same investment would have grown to $1,335,252.

Stock Advisor returns as of August 31, 2026.

John Ballard has no position in any of the stocks mentioned. The Motley Fool has positions in and recommends Costco Wholesale. The Motley Fool has a disclosure policy.

  • Bucks Reacts Survey: How Good Will Brayden Burries Become?

Bucks Reacts Survey: How Good Will Brayden Burries Become?

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of NBA fans. Throughout the year, we ask the most engaged Milwaukee Bucks fans and supporters across the country for their views on the team.

More than three months ago, as part of our build-up to the 2026 NBA Draft, I examined the history of the 10th overall pick. The selection has produced generational players, busts and nearly everything in between, making it one of the NBA Draft’s most volatile slots—unless your name is “Paul,” in which case big things appear to be destined to follow. Just look at Paul Pierce, Paul George, Paul Westphal and Paul Silas.*

The central argument was that the Bucks were at a crossroads and that this pick could either make or break the franchise’s future.

*Paul Silas is listed as the 10th overall pick on the NBA’s official website but 12th in other locations because of the league’s territorial pick rule at the time, which allowed teams to select local college players in a bid to increase fan support.

As you know, Milwaukee ultimately selected Brayden Burries with the 10th overall pick. It was, at the very least, a surprising choice. Burries was widely expected to be off the board by that point in the draft. NBADraft.net projected him to go ninth to the Dallas Mavericks, as did The Ringer, CBS and No Ceilings. We had him landing there, too.

The Bucks also appeared to have a strong and relatively young backcourt already in place. Tyler Herro, Ryan Rollins and Kasparas Jakučionis all looked capable of fitting into Milwaukee’s long-term plans. Kevin Porter Jr. was also in the mix after picking up his player option just days after the draft.

And yet, the Bucks still managed to land Burries.

Brayden Burries’ impressive Summer League debut

Burries has looked so good in a Bucks uniform that it is surprising Jon Horst has not been arrested for grand larceny. His Summer League performance—23.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game, along with First Team honours—was almost undersold by his nonchalant approach. He played as if he had already been there before.

It took time for the significance of his performance to sink in. In retrospect, we may not have talked about Burries nearly enough.

That brings us to this week’s poll. Could Burries’ composure, combined with our apparent indifference to just how well he played, point to something bigger? Is it all foreshadowing? Could we somehow be witnessing the early stages of the next great Buck—one so good that his Summer League performance will barely register as a footnote in the story of his career?

    Destiny, fate and all that.

So, Brew Hoopers, we are putting the question to you so we can preserve our prediction in ink—or at least darker pixels on lighter pixels—as proof of our prescience: just how good will Brayden Burries become?

  • Mets Series Preview: New York Mets Travel to Florida for Matchup With Tampa Bay Rays

Mets Series Preview: New York Mets Travel to Florida for Matchup With Tampa Bay Rays

The New York Mets (61-76) continue their difficult stretch against first-place opponents when they travel to Tampa for a three-game series against the American League East-leading Tampa Bay Rays (82-54).

The teams last met in June 2025, when Tampa Bay swept the Mets at Citi Field. The Rays also swept the 2024 series in May 2024 at Tropicana Field, before the Mets used the power of Grimace and OMG to fuel their unforgettable comeback and postseason run.

Mets struggle against Astros despite Juan Soto’s return

For the third consecutive series, the Mets faced a first-place team. After losing two of three to the AL Central-leading White Sox in Chicago and two of three to the NL Central-leading Brewers, New York could not overcome the AL West-leading Astros despite Houston’s middling record.

The Mets bookended the series with losses, falling 3-1 on Friday night and 6-3 on Sunday afternoon. They won 6-2 on Saturday behind Nolan McLean’s outstanding performance and a terrific offensive showing from Jared Young, who drove in three runs and collected three of the team’s hits.

Overall, the Mets struggled with runners in scoring position. They went 0-for-11 in their two losses and 4-for-12 in their victory, finishing the series 4-for-23 in those situations against Houston. New York left 16 runners on base across the three games.

The Mets did receive an offensive boost from the unexpected return of Juan Soto, who did not require a rehabilitation assignment after missing 31 games with a Grade 2 strain in his left calf. Soto delivered the go-ahead hit in Saturday’s victory after fouling a ball off his injured calf. On Sunday, he followed Francisco Lindor’s leadoff home run with a first-inning homer of his own. Soto finished the series 2-for-7 with a walk and two RBIs.

Although the Mets’ position in the standings makes the result largely academic, watching the team with Soto in the lineup is preferable to the alternative.

Francisco Lindor climbs Mets’ home run list

For those tracking Mets history and the franchise’s home run rankings, Lindor’s Sunday home run was the 155th of his career with New York. That moved him past Dave Kingman for sixth place on the team’s all-time list. Lindor had tied Kingman with his home run in Tuesday’s win over the Brewers.

Howard Johnson is next on the list, with 192 home runs as a Met. Assuming Lindor remains in New York, as appears extremely likely, it is difficult to envision him passing Johnson next season unless he finishes this year especially strongly and enjoys a healthy, power-filled 2027 campaign. That projection also assumes a full season unaffected by a potential lockout.

More likely, if Lindor plays out his contract in New York, he will move into the top five sometime during the 2028 season. With five years remaining on his contract, Lindor could also eventually pass Johnson and Mike Piazza’s 220 home runs, although health and other circumstances will play a role.

Rays enter series on four-game winning streak

Tampa Bay enters the series after sweeping the Padres at Tropicana Field, extending its winning streak to four games. The victory increased the Rays’ lead over the Yankees to 4.5 games as Tampa Bay tries to hold off New York, which has recently begun to make a push in the standings.

The Rays are tied with the Braves and Dodgers for the second-most wins in baseball, trailing only the Brewers. Tampa Bay and Milwaukee are the only two teams with winning percentages above .600 this season, thanks in part to the Rays’ 54 losses compared with 55 each for Atlanta and Los Angeles.

Tampa Bay is led primarily by its offense, which ranks first in the American League with a .733 OPS and a 105 wRC+. The Rays do not hit many home runs—their 142 rank 10th among AL teams—and their 616 runs are sixth in the league. They do, however, avoid strikeouts, posting an 18.6% strikeout rate that leads the AL.

The Rays’ starting rotation has a 3.57 ERA, third in the American League, and a 3.78 FIP, fourth among AL teams. Their bullpen is the roster’s main weakness, with a 4.06 ERA entering Monday that ranks eighth in the league.

Junior Caminero leads Tampa Bay’s offense

The Mets just faced Yordan Alvarez, who is expected to run away with the AL MVP award. Tampa Bay’s Junior Caminero should not be far behind in the voting and is close to Alvarez in two of the three Triple Crown categories.

Caminero enters the series with 37 home runs and 87 RBIs, ranking second and third in the AL, respectively. He is batting .282/.369/.539 with a 149 wRC+ and 4.3 fWAR in 136 games and has been, by far, the Rays’ best hitter this season.

His teammate Chandler Simpson is also chasing Alvarez for the AL batting title. Simpson ranks second with a .309 average in 128 games and is hitting .309/.338/.363. He has not hit a home run, but his speed has made him an impact player. His 37 stolen bases lead the American League.

Yandy Díaz is third in the AL with a .303 batting average and is hitting .303/.371/.465 with 20 home runs and a 134 wRC+ in 131 games. Former Mets player Cedric Mullins is also with Tampa Bay this season and is batting .206/.297/.355 with 14 home runs, 18 stolen bases and an 80 wRC+ in 119 games.

    Mets-Rays pitching matchups

Monday, August 31: Robert Stock vs. Ian Seymour, 6:40 p.m. EDT on SNY

    Stock (2026): 20.2 IP, 21 K, 13 BB, 2 HR, 7.40 ERA, 4.63 FIP, 182 ERA-

Stock was hit hard in his last start, but even with Johan Tong nearing a seven-inning no-hitter in the minors, he retained his rotation spot for another turn. The Brewers scored early and often, tagging the right-hander for seven earned runs on a season-high 10 hits over four innings. Stock struck out two, walked two and allowed one home run in the loss. His days in the rotation appear numbered unless he can rebound quickly in Monday night’s start.

    Seymour (2026): 107.0 IP, 128 K, 32 BB, 19 HR, 4.21 ERA, 4.01 FIP, 100 ERA-

Seymour will make his 12th start of the season alongside 30 relief appearances. The left-hander last entered in the eighth inning and finished Tampa Bay’s game against the Tigers, taking the loss after allowing four runs—three earned—on seven hits over 5 2/3 innings. He did not walk a batter, struck out five and surrendered one home run, taking his fifth loss of the season.

Tuesday, September 1: Sean Manaea vs. Freddy Peralta, 6:40 p.m. EDT on SNY

    Manaea (2026): 122.2 IP, 120 K, 40 BB, 20 HR, 4.55 ERA, 4.57 FIP, 112 ERA-

Manaea had been excellent in his previous two starts until struggling the third time through the opposing lineup. He was hit hard in his latest outing against the Brewers, allowing six earned runs on eight hits with three strikeouts and one walk over 5 2/3 innings.

He did well to reach the sixth inning given the early damage, helping preserve the bullpen. Still, it was his first failure to complete six innings since July 18, ending a streak of six consecutive starts. Manaea has been a recent bright spot after a difficult start to the year and will look to finish the season strongly while building momentum before the final year of his contract in 2027.

    Peralta (2026): 141.0 IP, 133 K, 54 BB, 22 HR, 5.11 ERA, 4.52 FIP, 125 ERA-

Peralta has actually struggled more since leaving the Mets, adding to the frustration of his 2026 season. The former Met has made five starts since being traded to Tampa Bay, posting a 5.60 ERA and a 4.88 FIP over 27 1/3 innings.

He is coming off his best start with the Rays, throwing six shutout innings against the Tigers to earn his sixth win of the season and his first with Tampa Bay. Peralta scattered two hits, struck out four and did not issue a walk. In his previous start, he worked seven innings against the Orioles but allowed five earned runs on seven hits and took the loss.

Wednesday, September 2: Christian Scott vs. Shane McClanahan, 6:40 p.m. EDT on SNY

    Scott (2026): 94.2 IP, 113 K, 44 BB, 10 HR, 3.80 ERA, 3.75 FIP, 93 ERA-

Scott delivered a solid performance through five innings against the Astros before running into trouble in the sixth and taking the loss. He allowed one hit, walked two and did not give up a run through the first five innings. After recording the first out in the sixth, he issued three consecutive walks, ending his night.

Nate Lavender relieved Scott and allowed all three inherited runners to score, damaging the right-hander’s final line. Scott finished with five walks and has now issued nine free passes over nine innings in his last two starts. He endured a difficult August, finishing the month with a 6.04 ERA and a 4.54 FIP over 25 1/3 innings.

    McClanahan (2026): 113.0 IP, 103 K, 38 BB, 9 HR, 3.19 ERA, 3.41 FIP, 76 ERA-

McClanahan has taken a long road back after undergoing Tommy John surgery in August 2023 and missing all of 2024. He then missed the entire 2025 season because of significant nerve irritation that prevented him from pitching.

The left-hander enters the series with a 3.19 ERA and a 3.41 FIP, both well within his career norms. His ERA ranks ninth among AL starting pitchers with at least 110 innings. McClanahan earned a win in his last start against the Padres after allowing four runs—three earned—on three hits over 5 2/3 innings.

Hummels Says BVB Is “gespickt mit potenziellen Weltklasse-Talenten”

Club legend Mats Hummels believes Borussia Dortmund are strongly positioned for the 2026/27 season and has given the Bundesliga club’s decision-makers a highly positive assessment of their transfer business.

“Das ist eine furchtbar spannende Mannschaft, eine sehr starke Mischung – und genau das, was den BVB immer ausgemacht hat”, said the 2014 World Cup winner during a Prime Video discussion on Monday.

Hummels rejects concerns over Dortmund’s experience

Hummels dismissed criticism that Niko Kovac’s team lacked “Erfahrung, Tiefe und Reife” and said, “sehe ich nicht so”. Borussia Dortmund are “auf vielen Positionen sehr erfahren” and “gespickt mit so ein paar potenziellen Weltklasse-Talenten” — although the squad has one fewer of those prospects for several months following Giannis Konstantelias’ serious knee injury, a torn cruciate ligament.

Hummels watched Dortmund’s 2-0 Bundesliga season-opening win over Hamburg with three friends. “Wir waren richtig euphorisiert erstmal. Dann kam die Verletzung, wo wir gedacht haben: ‘Das kann nicht sein.’ Es hat so Spaß gemacht, ihm zuzuschauen”, he said of Konstantelias: “Aber ich sehe den BVB trotzdem durch die Transfers sehr spannend. Da kann eine Euphorie aufkommen in den nächsten Wochen im Verein und bei den Fans.”

Young signings add to Borussia Dortmund’s potential

Hummels particularly praised the club’s other two young arrivals, Konstantinos Karetsas, 18, and Joane Gadou, 19. During his time at Dortmund, he had “immer gewusst, da tummeln sich jetzt ein paar Spieler, die irgendwann in den nächsten fünf Jahren Ballon-d’Or-Kandidaten sein sollten”, Hummels said: “Das haben sie wieder geschafft mit den Transfers.”

  • CrowdStrike Stock Hits a Fresh Record High: Is It Still Time to Buy?

CrowdStrike Stock Hits a Fresh Record High: Is It Still Time to Buy?

CrowdStrike (NASDAQ: CRWD) stock surged to a record closing high of $227.96 on Thursday, Aug. 27, after the cybersecurity company reported blockbuster fiscal second-quarter results the previous evening. The stock has returned 94% in 2026, dramatically outperforming the S&P 500, which has gained 13%.

CrowdStrike’s Falcon platform is one of the cybersecurity industry’s few all-in-one enterprise solutions. It protects cloud networks, employee identities, endpoints, and other critical systems. Comprehensive protection has become increasingly important as cybercriminals use artificial intelligence (AI) to identify vulnerabilities in corporate networks more quickly.

CrowdStrike believes its total addressable market will more than double to $325 billion by 2030. But with the stock trading at an all-time high, should investors buy CrowdStrike stock now?

CrowdStrike’s Falcon platform is expanding rapidly

The cybersecurity industry was once highly fragmented, with vendors typically specializing in one or two products. Enterprises often had to purchase security tools from multiple providers, and those products did not always work well together. That created gaps in their defenses—an increasingly serious problem in the AI era.

Falcon allows enterprises to choose from 33 modules to create a security platform tailored to their needs. Through its Flex subscription, customers can set a fixed annual budget and add or remove modules as their requirements change.

AI is creating new security risks for businesses, too. Enterprises can expose themselves to threats whenever they deploy an AI chatbot, agent, or other software application. Chatbots, for example, may be vulnerable to prompt injection, a technique in which a hacker disguises malicious instructions as legitimate prompts and directs the application to ignore its guardrails.

In some cases, attackers can persuade a chatbot to disclose sensitive information or provide access to restricted networks. CrowdStrike launched a Falcon module called AI Detection and Response (AIDR) to address those threats. The module monitors inputs and outputs from trusted AI applications to detect attempts to orchestrate a breach through prompt injection.

AIDR can also identify unauthorized agents and chatbots operating inside an organization, enabling security teams to shut them down immediately. During CrowdStrike’s fiscal 2027 second quarter, which ended July 31, annual recurring revenue (ARR) from AIDR nearly tripled from the previous quarter, signaling strong demand for the product.

    CrowdStrike’s revenue growth accelerated again

CrowdStrike ended the second quarter with $5.84 billion in total ARR, up 25% from the same period a year earlier. Falcon Flex represented $2.29 billion of that total and grew 101% year over year, suggesting that customers value the flexibility to add and remove security modules.

The second quarter marked the fourth consecutive quarter in which CrowdStrike’s total ARR growth accelerated. The company’s momentum prompted management to raise its fiscal 2027 full-year ARR forecast by $64 million to $6.607 billion at the midpoint of its guidance range.

CrowdStrike’s valuation could limit stock returns

Strong operating results do not guarantee further gains for CrowdStrike stock because valuation remains important. The company currently trades at a price-to-sales (P/S) ratio of 43.5. That is a record high and nearly four times CrowdStrike’s historical average P/S ratio of 11 since its 2019 initial public offering.

CrowdStrike’s stock is now valued at roughly seven times the Nasdaq-100, which has a P/S ratio of 6.2. It is also significantly more expensive than Palo Alto Networks, its closest competitor, which has a P/S ratio of 26.4.

Investors buying CrowdStrike stock in anticipation of strong gains over the next 12 months could therefore be disappointed. The company’s elevated valuation leaves little, if any, room for further upside in the near term.

However, CrowdStrike believes it can more than triple ARR to $20 billion by fiscal 2036. If that target is achieved, the company could generate positive returns for investors willing to hold the stock for roughly a decade. Whether CrowdStrike is a buy may therefore depend largely on an investor’s time horizon.
