Philadelphia Personal Injury Attorney and TikTok Influencer Thomas Bosworth Arrested for Assault

Philadelphia personal injury attorney Thomas Bosworth, 37, known to his 327,000 TikTok followers as “Tommy The Lawyer,” faces simple assault and harassment charges following an alleged domestic violence incident on the Cynwyd Heritage Trail in Lower Merion Township on September 3.

Assault Allegations on the Cynwyd Heritage Trail

According to the affidavit of probable cause, four witnesses reported seeing Bosworth choke his girlfriend and throw her into bushes along the walking path behind Union Avenue in Bala Cynwyd. Witnesses stated the woman slapped Bosworth and threw rocks at him while on the ground. Responding officers observed “redness on her cheeks and discoloration of the skin around her neck,” the document states. Both parties declined to speak further with police; the woman initially told officers she had fallen.

The assault allegedly occurred in front of the couple’s newborn daughter, who was in a stroller. Witnesses told police they overheard the couple arguing about Bosworth’s alleged infidelity, and the dispute escalated when the woman mentioned a text thread from his secretary that he had deleted.

Bosworth, a Gladwyne resident, was released on $15,000 unsecured bail. He did not respond to requests for comment. His attorney, Michael van der Veen, issued a statement: “is presumed innocent, maintains his innocence and has full confidence in the courts.”

Rise to Prominence and Social Media Presence

Bosworth gained national attention in 2022 when, as a 33-year-old attorney at Kline & Specter, he won a $19.7 million medical malpractice verdict. Since then, he has launched his own firm and built a substantial TikTok following by offering consumer advice from a personal injury perspective and analyzing high-profile lawsuits.

    History of Professional Controversies

The arrest adds to a pattern of scrutiny surrounding Bosworth’s professional conduct:

    • Kline & Specter dispute: His 2022 departure sparked litigation over alleged client poaching and defamation claims. Though a 2024 settlement was reached, both sides have returned to court alleging violations.
    • Penn Medicine jury pool challenge (2023): The health system sought to stop Bosworth from posting about a pending malpractice case, claiming he misrepresented facts and “poisoned” potential jurors. The judge ruled in Bosworth’s favor.
    • Federal sanctions (2023): A federal judge sanctioned Bosworth for “misconduct” during four expert depositions in a product liability case, describing his behavior toward a female defense attorney as “rude, demeaning, and obnoxious.”
    • Superior Court admonishment (2024): The Pennsylvania Superior Court upheld the $19.7 million verdict but called Bosworth’s courtroom conduct “deplorable,” citing repeated disregard for a Common Pleas judge’s instructions in an apparent attempt to inflame the jury.

Less than two weeks after the alleged assault, Bosworth posted on LinkedIn about the verdict being upheld without mentioning the court’s criticism. “The courtroom is one of the only places left in our democracy where the everyday person can hold to task wrongdoers, no matter how rich powerful,” he wrote.

    Upcoming Court Proceedings

Bosworth is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on the assault charges on October 6.

Hagenes Reflects on Strong Sprint Finish as Team Eyes Stage Wins

“I’m happy with my performance. This was the best I could do today”, Hagenes said afterward. “A finish like this suits me really well. My teammates had full confidence in me and made sure I was in a good position heading into the final meters. I gave it everything I had, but I just wasn’t strong enough to win.”

Sports Director Praises Teamwork and Confidence

Sports director Sierk Jan de Haan looked back on a successful opening day. “We really wanted to go for the sprint with Per, and thanks in part to the strong teamwork, we were able to do that. Per was also very strong in the finale and finished fourth against a strong field. That gives both him and the team a huge confidence boost heading into the next few days.”

    Team Strategy for Upcoming Stages

Tomorrow is likely to end in a bunch sprint, while the following stages will feature more climbing. “We’re aiming for a stage win. We’ve marked stages three and five because we’re very strong across the board as a team. In the time trial, we’ll go all-out and see where we stand in the overall standings. Davide is our leader, but Per should also be able to finish high.”

FDA Expands Recall of Liquid Soap Products Over Bacterial Contamination Risk

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration has widened a recall affecting six liquid soap products distributed across 15 states due to potential bacterial contamination. The recall involves more than 2,000 cases, prompting health officials to urge consumers to check their supplies immediately.

    Which Products Are Affected?

During a digital edition interview, Dr. Máximo Brito explained that multiple specific brands are implicated. “Son jabones de una marca de varias marcas específicas,” he stated. “Entonces, lo mejor es que las personas que usan ese jabón líquido desechable, pues busquen en las redes cuáles son las marcas, porque ahí alrededor hay varias marcas implicadas y entonces sería nombrarlas una por una. Es difícil si usted tiene un jabón de ese tipo, pues vaya al internet y busque cuál estaremos publicando nuestra cuenta de instagram, específicamente el nombre de los productos que están ahora bajo esta revisión.”

    Contamination Is Not Visible

Consumers cannot detect contamination by sight or smell. “En realidad, no hay manera de saberlo viendo el jabón, porque esas bacterias son organismos y no cambia el color ni el olor del jabón en específico. Debemos seguir las guías de cuáles son los jabones que están en este momento infectados,” Dr. Brito emphasized.

    Health Risks and Vulnerable Populations

The contaminated soap acts as a bacterial reservoir. “El riesgo es de que el jabón se constituye como un reservorio, es decir, se contiene bacterias y cuando lo usamos entonces pasamos la bacteria a nuestras manos y podemos pasar las bacterias a nuestras mucosas, a la boca, a la nariz y de ahí entonces esas respiratorio o pueden pasar la boca, pueden ser consumidas entonces causar enfermedad también la piel. Si tenemos algo por el estilo, pues las bacterias pueden infectar esa herida y eso es muy importante,” the doctor warned.

Transmission risks are heightened in healthcare settings and households with immunocompromised individuals. “Y en trabajadores de salud o en pacientes inmunocomprometidos o a familiares inmunocomprometidos. En nuestras manos podemos pasar las bacterias a ellos y entonces están inmunocomprometidos,” he added.

Liquid vs. Solid Soap: Which Is Safer?

Addressing a common question, Dr. Brito noted that liquid soap remains effective for infection prevention, though it is not immune to occasional contamination. “El jabón líquido es perfectamente. Es perfectamente bueno para prevenir infecciones. Ocasionalmente se infecta con bacterias y entonces hay que realidad, el jabón líquido probablemente es mejor que los jabones sólidos.”

    What Consumers Should Do

Health authorities recommend checking the FDA’s official recall list and the program’s Instagram account for specific product names. Anyone in possession of recalled soap should stop using it immediately and follow disposal guidelines. The audio of the original interview prevails in case of any transcript discrepancies.

Iranian Strikes Damage Hundreds of U.S. Military and Diplomatic Sites, Pentagon Watchdog Reports

A new Department of Defense Office of the Inspector General report reveals that Iranian strikes have damaged or destroyed hundreds of buildings and structures at U.S. bases across the Middle East during the ongoing conflict. The assessment, among the first official evaluations of Operation Epic Fury since its February 28 launch, details extensive infrastructure damage, rising casualties, and a $33.4 billion price tag that excludes future reconstruction costs.

Widespread Base Damage Across Eight Nations

U.S. Central Command informed IG investigators that “Iranian strikes damaged and destroyed hundreds of buildings and structures at U.S. bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, and Jordan during the conflict.” While the report did not itemize specific military facility losses, it provided concrete figures for diplomatic infrastructure.

The State Department disclosed that “U.S. diplomatic facilities in four countries suffered physical damage from Iranian strikes, with an estimated total cost of about $184 million.” U.S. diplomatic sites in Iraq endured more than 600 attacks, while the embassies in Kuwait City and Riyadh were also struck.

Operation Epic Fury Costs Surpass $33 Billion

As of June 29, Pentagon estimates place the cost of Operation Epic Fury at $33.4 billion. The breakdown includes:

    • $22.3 billion in expended munitions
    • $3.7 billion in equipment losses
    • $7.4 billion in costs beyond CENTCOM’s normal operating expenses

Critically, these estimates do not include the cost of repairing damaged infrastructure. The report states the Department of Defense “did not include the cost of military construction for damaged infrastructure in its estimate because the DoD has not determined what its future posture will be in the region, how it will construct its bases, and what percentage of the construction costs allies and partners will contribute.”

    Funding Gaps Strain Military Budgets

Because Congress has not appropriated dedicated war funding, costs are being diverted from standard operating budgets for training and maintenance. The IG noted that “The absence of a dedicated appropriation for OEF means that it can be difficult to calculate the total ‘cost’ of OEF.”

U.S. Transportation Command, which flew more than 1,500 support missions, is also facing financial pressure. “During peak OEF times, airlift surged to 30 to 40 daily missions directly into the CENTCOM [area of responsibility], with an additional 20 to 30 daily aircraft pushing into the USEUCOM AOR for transload operations,” the report said. This effort cost nearly $2.4 billion as of June 30.

“While these obligations have been largely reimbursed by the military services to date, USTRANSCOM reported that it anticipates delayed payments moving forward as service funding is depleted without a supplemental appropriation,” the IG warned.

    Aircraft Losses and Rising Casualties

The report confirmed dozens of U.S. manned and unmanned aircraft destroyed or damaged, citing a Congressional Research Service report from May vetted by CENTCOM as of August 24. Confirmed losses include:

    • Four F-15E Strike Eagles
    • One A-10 Thunderbolt II
    • Four AH-6 Little Bird helicopters
    • One AH-64 Apache
    • One MH-60 Black Hawk
    • One MQ-4C Triton drone
    • Up to 30 MQ-9 Reaper drones

Human costs are mounting. The report lists 18 U.S. military personnel dead as of August 27. The Pentagon reported 417 wounded as of June 30, though casualty figures released in late August surged to 774.

  • Simone Johnson Recalls Backlash After The Rock Took Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania Spot

Simone Johnson Recalls Backlash After The Rock Took Cody Rhodes’ WrestleMania Spot

Simone Johnson, known on-screen as Ava Raine, recently opened up about the intense backlash she faced after her father, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, appeared to take Cody Rhodes’ main-event spot at WWE WrestleMania 40. The revelation came during an appearance on Rhodes’ podcast, What Do You Want To Talk About?, as reported by Fightful.

The Rock’s Return Sparks Fan Revolt

The controversy erupted in early 2024 when The Rock returned to WWE television shortly after Cody Rhodes won his second consecutive Royal Rumble match. Despite Rhodes earning a championship opportunity against Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns, The Rock’s insertion into the WrestleMania 40 main-event picture ignited a massive negative reaction from the global fanbase. Fans hijacked WWE’s social media channels to voice their frustration, but the hostility quickly extended beyond the principals involved.

Simone Johnson Caught in the Crossfire

At the time, Simone Johnson was an active performer on the WWE NXT brand. She recalled the specific moment she realized the depth of the audience’s anger. It occurred during the NXT Vengeance Day event, the first WWE programming aired after the controversial angle on SmackDown.

“Dad [The Rock] came back; he shook your hand; he took your spot. That was Friday. That Sunday was a NXT pay-per-view, Vengeance Day. It was the first time there was WWE programming since that Friday. I will never forget this. I was sitting in makeup. I finished my makeup, and our head writer, Johnny Russo, came up to me and was like, ‘Can I talk to you for a minute?’ ‘Sure.’ I don’t think I had filmed the promo that I was doing that day; we were about to film it.”

Johnson detailed the warning she received from the creative team moments before her segment aired.

“He was like, ‘Just so you know, when we play your promo, please don’t be surprised if they boo you.’ ‘Okay.’ I can understand that. That did happen. All of the hate online happened. That day, it changed the way I looked at fans overall and changed the way that I looked at the wrestling business. For a while, I thought about it in a very negative way. It was quite negative at the time,”

    Finding Perspective Amid Adversity

Despite the difficult experience, Johnson explained how the ordeal ultimately contributed to her professional growth. She credited the situation with forcing her to develop a thicker skin and a more focused mindset regarding her own career trajectory.

“All these external factors are happening, and everyone can have an opinion because of who I am or what my dad has done. It made me be a little selfish in my journey and what I was doing, but it was necessary,”

    Resolution and Departure

The WrestleMania 40 narrative eventually resolved in Rhodes’ favor. “The American Nightmare” finished his story by defeating Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Championship on Night Two, while The Rock headlined Night One in a tag team match alongside Reigns against Rhodes and Seth Rollins.

Johnson remained with WWE NXT until January 2026, serving as both an in-ring competitor and the brand’s General Manager during her final run. She opted not to renew her contract, allowing it to expire as she moves on to the next chapter of her career.

Person Arrested at Grand Central Terminal; Metro-North Lines Face Delays

A person was taken into custody Wednesday morning following a police response at Grand Central Terminal, causing significant delays across multiple Metro-North Railroad lines, according to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA).

    Incident Disrupts Morning Commute

The incident occurred shortly after 8:00 a.m. on September 16, 2026. The MTA reported that a woman was acting erratically on a train pulling into the terminal. In response, another passenger activated the emergency stop cord. Passengers then began to self-evacuate from the train, prompting the MTA to cut power to the area.

A heavy police presence was observed at the terminal following the arrest. Video and images from the scene showed numerous officers stationed throughout the facility.

    Service Impacts and Passenger Welfare

Delays were reported on the Harlem, Hudson, and New Haven Metro-North lines due to the police activity at Grand Central. The MTA confirmed that four passengers were evaluated for stress at the scene, but no physical injuries were reported.

    Developing Situation

This is a developing story. Commuters are advised to check the MTA website or app for real-time service updates and to allow for extra travel time.

  • Lions vs. Bills: Three Must-Know Storylines for Thursday’s Week 2 Prime-Time Game

Lions vs. Bills: Three Must-Know Storylines for Thursday’s Week 2 Prime-Time Game

Can Either Defense Contain the Opposition’s Explosive Offense?

The Buffalo Bills and Detroit Lions enter their Week 2 matchup with offenses that appeared unstoppable in the season opener, but the central question remains whether either defense can impose its will. Detroit managed just one scoreless quarter in Week 1, highlighting the challenge ahead.

Josh Allen Dominates Elite Texans Defense

Josh Allen accounted for 357 yards of total offense and four touchdowns against a Houston Texans unit that allowed the fewest yards and second-fewest points in the NFL during the 2025 season. The Texans returned a largely intact roster for 2026, featuring five Pro Bowl starters from last year, including first-team All-Pro selections Will Anderson Jr. and Derek Stingley Jr. If Houston’s premier defense could not slow Allen, the league must wonder which unit can.

Lions Secondary Faces Significant Injury Hurdles

Detroit’s path to an upset relies heavily on keeping its defense off the field through ball control. However, the Lions enter the game with a patchwork secondary due to injuries to Brian Branch and Kerby Joseph. While Detroit possesses front-seven All-Pro talent in Aidan Hutchinson and Jack Campbell, the compromised backfield faces a daunting assignment against Buffalo’s aerial attack.

Detroit’s Ground Game Could Exploit Buffalo’s Run Defense

The Lions’ clearest formula for success involves pounding the rock and dominating time of possession. This strategy appears viable against a Bills run defense that surrendered 124 rushing yards to the Texans in the opener. David Montgomery, former running mate of Jahmyr Gibbs, punched in two of his three touchdowns on the ground. Run defense was a pronounced weakness for Buffalo last season, when the unit yielded 136.2 yards per game, ranking 28th in the league.

    Early Test for New Coordinators

Thursday night presents a significant early test for new Bills defensive coordinator Jim Leonhard. On the opposite sideline, first-year Lions offensive coordinator Drew Petzing showed no inclination to hold back, deploying game-breaker Jahmyr Gibbs for a career-high 34 touches in Week 1. The strategic chess match between these coordinators will likely dictate the game’s flow.

  • Mary Cosby on Son Robert Jr.’s Death, Filming ‘RHOSLC’ Season 7

Mary Cosby on Son Robert Jr.’s Death, Filming ‘RHOSLC’ Season 7

Mary Cosby Returns to ‘RHOSLC’ After Son’s Death: ‘I Need to Keep Going to See What’s in the End’

Mary Cosby steps out of a town car into the late-summer Utah heat outside STK Steakhouse. A fan — a tall, middle-aged man walking a toy poodle — shouts, “Mary, we love you!” She bristles slightly, looking uncomfortable in her impeccably tailored pink silk Tom Ford suit. “Fame itself is dark,” Cosby, 53, says once we sit down for lunch. “It’s not a happy place. It’s not a place you reach and then you’re like, ‘Okay, I’m good.’ It alienates you. It puts you in a space where you can’t go to the store, you can’t be normal. Whenever you’re in public, you have to look nice because people are going to see. It strips your freedom.”

In the public imagination, Housewives with a capital H are fame-hungry attention-seekers who would rather throw the $400 bottle of Château Brane-Cantenac Margaux sitting in front of us than sip it, as Cosby is hesitantly doing now. The star of Bravo’s Real Housewives of Salt Lake City isn’t exactly press-shy; she’s here, after all, agreeing to speak to a journalist about the season of reality television she just filmed. But just over six months after the death of her son, she is understandably guarded. She had shot one episode of RHOSLC’s seventh season before Robert Cosby Jr. was found dead of an overdose after years of struggling with addiction — a subject Cosby had addressed on the show. Bravo immediately halted production, and one of its most popular series was plunged into uncertainty. Cosby had taken breaks from the show before, but a tragedy of this magnitude, at a time when cameras were scheduled to roam in and out of Cosby and her friends’ homes, was uncharted territory for everyone involved.

Building a Franchise Around Mary Cosby

As Noah Samton, senior vice-president of current production for Bravo and Peacock unscripted, tells it, The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City was built around Mary. She and her husband, Robert Cosby Sr., were well known in Utah when Bravo came to town to cast its new franchise. The two ran the Faith Temple Pentecostal Church in a Mormon-dominated area and had a family history people whispered about. (Before they were married, Robert Sr. was married to Mary’s grandmother, meaning he was her step-grandfather before he was her husband.) A producer pointed out how strong her character could be, and Bravo started casting others to complement her. Mary corroborates this; the show just sort of fell into her lap. “There was none,” she says of her motivation for signing on. “My work ethic just kind of kicked in, and I thought, Okay, well, I can do this.”

She was a strange fit from the beginning — the kind of woman who looked Jen Shah in the eye and told her she “smelled like hospital.” Her lines were undeniably funny, as blunt as they were liberating. But she teetered too much between the roles of welcome comic relief and distasteful antagonist. “I think if you watch that first season, it wasn’t fair to Mary,” says Samton. “Mary is a multidimensional person, and I think the relationship she has with Robert Sr. was what felt like it would grab an audience. And I think we leaned a little too much into that surface story and didn’t treat her the way I always aspire to treat all people on all of my shows, which is to show the good, the bad, and the ugly. I don’t think we did her justice that first season.”

After an even shakier second season, Cosby did not return for the third and agreed to appear only as a “friend of” in season four, famously skipping a night out with the cast to sit in their Sprinter van, which she asked to take her through a McDonald’s drive-thru. But she rallied in season five, getting close with Angie Katsanevas, who helped filter Cosby’s brash humor for the better. Her family and church life remained opaque, but her bizarre comedic timing and magnetic onscreen presence turned her into everyone’s favorite reality-TV anti-hero. That same season she shared a heartbreaking scene with her only son, Robert Jr., in which he talked about his drug addiction and likened his life with depression to “unseasoned chicken.” Mary helped get Robert Jr. into rehab, but his troubles continued. In early February, he was released from jail after two months for violating a protective order his ex-wife had placed on him. On February 25, he died at age 23.

    The Day Everything Changed

Katsanevas, who was at Mary’s house earlier that day, remembers receiving the call from Mary. “I just looked at my daughter, and I had my hand on her when she told me, and I just started bawling. I mean, it was devastating,” she says. “It was heartbreaking to know that you’re looking at your child and someone’s telling you they just lost their only child.” Whitney Rose, another of Mary’s co-stars, was in her glam chair about to film a scene when the showrunner called her and told her that filming was canceled. “Have you ever felt like your soul drops out of your body?” she says. “Everything just hits the ground. It was, like, a complete out-of-body experience.”

Samton says he was sleeping when his phone started blowing up. He realized he’d missed calls from both Cosby and Lisa Shannon, the SVP of programming and development at Shed Media, the company that produces RHOSLC for Bravo. “I first called Lisa, and Lisa was completely overwhelmed, crying, and got out to me that Robert Jr. passed away. I was stunned. I couldn’t believe it,” he says. “I called Mary back, and I was distraught. What do you say? I was very overwhelmed on the phone, and Mary actually started to comfort me. She was saying to me, ‘It’s going to be okay, Noah. It’s going to be okay.’”

Cameras went down that night with everyone agreeing to stop filming indefinitely. “The strategy was to be respectful of her privacy, meet her wherever she was, and let her guide us,” Andy Cohen, executive producer of The Real Housewives franchise, explains. “She kept telling us that the sisterhood of the women and her bond with the production crew were a source of comfort for her during this time.” About a month after Robert Jr.’s death, Cosby told Samton that she was ready to return to work. She wasn’t done grieving, but she’d decided that succumbing to a broken heart was a choice and she didn’t want the show to be a casualty. “I want to stay No. 1,” she explains, bubbles still floating to the surface of our Margaux. “The show is like our baby. I care about it, so that keeps me going.”

Six Months Later: Grief, Peace, and Purpose

It’s been six months since Robert Jr. died. How are you and your husband doing?

I think I went into shock. I don’t know if it ever hit me, because I still feel my son. I still feel his spirit, and I don’t know how that could be unless he’s okay and he made it to the good side. I feel him safe. I feel him tucked away. I feel him away from danger, so a part of me can rest.

It changed me. I was so worried about him, but I thought he would get better and he would be that proof, like, “Look, people, you can change.” But that was not the way he was supposed to go. People don’t leave unless it’s their time. I mean, this kid had nine lives. He had accident after accident, and finally it caught up with him. I think that it was for the good. To this day, there’s a peace that lives in my house. It’s a peace that we didn’t have before. So we’re thankful but hurt, if that makes sense.

Did you have a call with the producers or anyone from the network?

Lisa Shannon screamed at the top of her lungs and cried her heart out to the point that Robert Sr., it touched him. She cried so hard it touched both of us and brought us close.

How did the conversations about your participation in the show go from there?

When it first happened, Noah told me I didn’t have to come back. He’s like, “You don’t have to worry about your job. You take a year off, you take a season off, you will have your job.” And I thought, If I do that, then I’m gonna go darker into what I’m in. I’m gonna just sit at home, I’m gonna think about it. I’m gonna constantly be at ends: Why, what, how, when, what could I have done better, what could I have changed? I would have beat myself up. So I told Noah, “No, I want to work. I want to distract myself. I want to keep my mind on something positive.”

Did you talk to Robert Sr. about your decision to go back?

No, he trusts me. He knows that I know how to create boundaries. I know how to protect myself, and I know what I need. I wasn’t delirious and distraught. During that time I realized that dying from a broken heart is a choice. It came to me, like, You can just choose not to even go on. I thought, Well, maybe my journey and what I was put on this Earth for are not done. His is done. Mine isn’t. I need to keep going to see what’s in the end.

You’ve talked about how Robert Sr. hates filming the show. Did he have reservations about participating again?

I just asked him, Would he do it for me? I said, “I don’t have anyone. You’re the only family I have left.” He’s like, “One time. I’ll do it. There’s just one time and then don’t ask again.” I’m like, “I’m going to ask again.” He agreed to go to our church and film a scene there, and he cried. He cried and he had a moment, kind of a little angry moment where he almost didn’t understand. But then it comes forward and we’re both sitting there with understanding and acceptance. It was beautiful. You could see I was all cheesy. I needed him, and for him to show up for me is so important.

What was it like when you first went back filming? Was the scene in the first episode of season seven, where all the women are at your house, your first time back on-camera?

They handled me good. I mean, they couldn’t keep their stuff together, but they came together for me, and I respected all of them for that. I want our show to be successful. I want our show to thrive. And I feel like me being there, being present, pushing with that mind-set helps it. I go into work mode. I want to stay number one. The show is like our baby. I care about it, so that keeps me going.

You said the women were there for you in the days after Robert’s passing and acted like family. How did they show up?

Well, first of all, they all came over. The doorbell rang, Bronwyn brought her mom. Doorbell rings, and Lisa sent food, sent baskets, sent gifts. Just constantly sending me stuff, constantly showing up, constantly coming over, sitting down, talking to me. In some ways I felt like I ended up encouraging them. I found strength in them coming to see me, talking to me, keeping me going.

In that episode you talk about how Robert Jr.’s homegoing service brought you peace. Can you tell me about it?

It came with a reassurance, and it came with an energy that everything is all right. Everything’s okay. This is all in the plan. It became an actual homegoing: You celebrate someone that gets to go home. And it was a celebration. I had 34 million views on my page from him. If that doesn’t say, “You did something right in life,” then nothing will.

You mentioned your siblings didn’t come to the service. How did that feel?

I have three brothers and a sister, and my one brother did come, and that meant more to me than all of them together. I don’t get caught up in what people decide to do or how they treat me, because I’ve been through so much that I just take it. And for what it’s worth, I don’t think on it. If that’s their choice, they have to live with that, not me.

There were a few other Housewives at the service — Kyle Richards and Cynthia Bailey and Shereé Whitfield came. What did that mean to you?

Everything. Kyle still talks about it. I will forever be indebted to them for sharing that time with me. They couldn’t have done anything better for me than to show up at such a time. I pray for them every day. It just tells you who’s beautiful inside and who’s not.

When you returned to filming, did your relationship to the show feel different?

This year I had nothing to lose. That was my mind-set all the way through. What can I do now that can completely go wrong? And the women were not allowed to go after me, so that was a blessing. [Laughs.] I don’t have to rip anybody apart. I think that I needed to be dealt with fragilely. I don’t know what version would show up if they were to come at me.

It felt good. I needed it. You perform differently when you feel like you’re wanted there. So for the first time, that showed up. They paid more attention to me, didn’t put me in the background like I can’t talk.

Was that a result of you being more present, the behavior of the other women, or decisions on the part of production?

It was probably production drawing me out more and letting me be myself and accepting whatever I’m saying is what I’m going through. I felt like the production had a thankfulness about them that I was there. I never felt that before.

You mentioned on the show that a lot of viewers reached out. What were you hearing from them? How did that feel?

Christina Applegate, Rihanna — I can’t even tell you all the big people, way bigger than me, that reached out like, “Mary, sorry.” The world grieved with me. Everyone came together with me and they felt my pain, which helped. Even the people that just watch the show. People from Ireland, people from Israel, people from Australia, people from London, Canada. Everyone from around the world that heard about it reached out to me. I have millions of messages.

You’ve told me you don’t love fame, but without the attention from the show, you might not have gotten all of those people grieving with you, right?

I don’t think I needed it. I don’t have expectations for how people show up for me. I don’t rely on people’s validation to make me feel okay. I don’t get starstruck, not yet. I think if I met Beyoncé, I would be though. I’m like, “Can I do anything for you?”

Do you watch the show after you film?

I watch the episodes to critique myself, not for anything else. I just see what I can do better for next year.

Do you fast forward through other people’s scenes?

I’m going to be honest: I absolutely do. Mainly Heather’s. I like things to stay consistent, and her consistency kind of falls off, so it doesn’t hold my interest. I think Bronwyn’s scenes are interesting. I think Lisa’s scenes are good. I mean, when she’s arguing and fighting. When she’s being Lisa and Lisa-ing, I will watch it.

How do you think the reunion’s going to be?

Awesome. Because this year, I don’t care. I’m going to say what I feel. I’m going to say what I think. I’m not going to let nobody dictate. Usually, I stay quiet and I try not to get into the mess, but I feel like I’m going to have to when I have to say something.

What’s your motivation to keep doing the show now?

For my son. He would want me to keep going. He would want me to shine. He’d want me to be the best I can be in whatever I’m doing in life.

Are you still living with his dog?

His dog’s doing so well. He’s happy now. He sleeps on his back. That means they trust everyone in the house. They know they’re safe. Every morning I take him out at eight o’clock, and we stay out from 30 minutes to an hour. He lies in the grass, and that’s our time. He’s gotten really close to my husband. My husband cooks his food from scratch. We have a really good bond among us right now.

If there’s one thing you want viewers to take away from the season, what is it?

My strength. This could have killed me, and it should have killed me. It was designed to at least let me fall, and I didn’t. I doubled down on knowing that what happens in my life is for the good and what’s going to happen is supposed to happen. You can’t do anything when it’s someone’s time but accept it and keep going and hope that one day you’ll see him again.

Officials plan to host a public update at City Hall at 8:30 a.m. to provide further details on the situation and restoration efforts.

Widespread Pressure Loss Reported Across Wichita

Residents on both the east and west sides of Wichita reported significantly lowered or completely lost water pressure early Wednesday. Reports from viewers across the city began reaching the 12 News newsroom in the pre-dawn hours.

As of 6:00 a.m., city officials confirmed to 12 News that crews were actively working to address the apparent widespread problem. However, by 6:15 a.m., the city had not yet identified the specific source causing the pressure disruption.

The exact number of water customers impacted by the pressure problem remains unclear at this time.

Until further notice, all Wichita water customers should adhere to standard boil-water protocols. This includes bringing water to a rolling boil for at least one minute prior to use for drinking, cooking, making ice, brushing teeth, or washing dishes. Wichita Boil Water Advisory Affects 500K Customers, Forces School Closures

Wichita, Kan. — A citywide boil water advisory affecting approximately 500,000 water customers remained in effect Wednesday morning after a power outage and subsequent backup generator failure at Wichita’s primary water treatment plant triggered a loss of pressure across the distribution system.

Cause: Backup Generator Failure at Aging Plant

Wichita Public Works Director Gary Janzen confirmed during an 8:30 a.m. press conference at City Hall that the advisory originated with a power outage at the city’s current water treatment plant, a facility more than 80 years old. The plant was operating on backup generators following Tuesday night’s storms, but those generators failed for reasons still under investigation.

Janzen emphasized that the failure was not due to an issue with the plant infrastructure itself. City staff are working to identify why the backup generators failed. Water sampling is the top priority as crews work to resolve the issue, though officials cannot yet provide a timeline for when the advisory might be lifted.

The city has taken over operation of its new water treatment plant, but that facility is not scheduled to go online until the second quarter of 2027.

    School Closures Impact Elementary Students

The widespread impact includes Wichita Public Schools. USD 259 announced Wednesday morning that no classes would be held for elementary schools with a 9 a.m. start time.

No school for any 9 a.m. start WPS elementary schools today, Wednesday, Sept. 16, due to the boil water advisory. Students at latchkey at these schools will need to be picked up as soon as possible. Determinations about Sept. 17 and after-school events will be made when more information is available.Schools that are already in session and 9 a.m. secondary start schools will continue as normal.

Secondary schools with 9 a.m. starts and schools already in session will continue as normal. Decisions regarding Thursday, Sept. 17, and after-school activities will be made once more information is available.

    Official Precautions for Residents

The City of Wichita advised that with the advisory, its water customers should observe the following precautions until further notice:

    • Boil water for one minute prior to drinking or food preparation or use bottled water.
    • Dispose of ice cubes and do not use ice from a household automatic icemaker.
    • Disinfect dishes and other food contact surfaces by immersion for at least one minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.

    Bathing and Health Guidance

Water used for bathing does not generally need to be boiled. Supervision of children is necessary while bathing so that water is not ingested. Persons with cuts or severe rashes may wish to consult their physicians.

    Advisory Rescind Process

Regardless of whether the public water supplier or Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) announced a boil water advisory, only KDHE can issue the rescind order following testing at a certified laboratory.

The City will provide regular updates on the boil advisory but cannot provide a time when the advisory will be rescinded at this time.
