MacBook Pro With OLED Touch Screen Running macOS 27.1 Spotted Inside Apple

Apple is reportedly testing new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro models equipped with touch-enabled OLED displays, running macOS 27.1 ahead of a planned release later this year. The information comes from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, who indicates the laptops are now firmly scheduled for a 2026 launch.

    macOS 27.1 Testing Underway

According to Gurman’s latest report, the high-end MacBook Pro prototypes are currently being validated with macOS 27.1. The operating system update is slated for public release in late October, with the first developer beta expected to arrive in the coming days. This software timeline aligns with a hardware debut before the end of 2026.

    Release Window Narrows

Gurman previously suggested a launch window of late 2026 or early 2027. His updated reporting now places these OLED MacBook Pro models within a list of products arriving “later this year,” signaling increased confidence in a 2026 release.

    Expected Specifications and Design Changes

The rumored feature set for the first-generation OLED MacBook Pro models includes:

    • M5 Pro and M5 Max chip options
    • A thinner chassis design
    • Dynamic Island replacing the current display notch
    • Touch-enabled OLED display technology

    Positioning Above Standard Models

These OLED-equipped MacBook Pros are expected to carry premium pricing and sit above the regular 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro lineup. The standard models are anticipated to transition to M7 Pro and M7 Max chips next year, creating a clear product tier distinction.

    Clarification on Branding Rumors

Earlier reports from Macworld suggested these devices might adopt “MacBook Ultra” branding. However, that same report incorrectly predicted the foldable iPhone would be named “iPhone Ultra” (it is reportedly called “iPhone Duo”), casting some doubt on the MacBook Ultra moniker.

  • Dodgers to ‘ride or die’ with Kyle Tucker Amid Turnaround Hopes

Dodgers to ‘ride or die’ with Kyle Tucker Amid Turnaround Hopes

CINCINNATI — With his career-worst season spiraling into nightmare territory, Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Kyle Tucker was pulled aside recently by manager Dave Roberts for a candid conversation about his playing time for the remainder of the year.

    External Pressure vs. Internal Faith

Externally, calls had been mounting for the $240 million free-agent signing to be platooned or outright benched as his offensive numbers continued to plummet during an extended second-half slump. Internally, however, the Dodgers’ front office and coaching staff decided to double down on their faith in this offseason’s marquee acquisition.

The message Roberts delivered was unambiguous.

“I told him, I’m gonna ride or die with him,” Roberts shared this weekend.

Asked if he used that exact phrasing, Roberts smiled.

“I did,” Roberts joked. “That was my young term phrase.”

Glimmers of Progress Amid Persistent Struggles

On the day of those comments, Roberts had reason for optimism. Over the previous two games, Tucker had shown signs of life at the plate, posting back-to-back three-hit performances that included a home run. Over the preceding week, Dodgers hitting coaches believed they had finally identified a mechanical breakthrough with the left-handed slugger’s swing — one that temporarily cleaned up flaws that had plagued him all season.

But in Tucker’s 2026 campaign, no turnaround has proved simple.

Over the two games following that brief surge, he went 0-for-8, including a strikeout with the bases loaded in the top of the ninth inning on Sunday. For the season, his numbers remain stunningly disappointing: a .226 batting average, a .692 OPS, and a nearly negligible 0.3 wins above replacement.

A Season on the Brink of Historic Flop Territory

At this point, the 29-year-old four-time All-Star is threatening to become one of the biggest free-agent busts in recent high-priced MLB history. Yet the Dodgers are not wavering from their commitment to keep the veteran in the lineup, citing his “talent level” and “proven track record,” as Roberts noted.

“I was prepared, the organization was prepared, to give him as much leash as we possibly could to work through some things, and I do think that now we’re starting to see the fruits,” Roberts said. “So I see no other reason why we would pivot from running him out there every day.”

    The only caveat Roberts offered:

“I guess, to that same point, until you can’t, right?”

    Diagnosing a Mechanical Mystery

Pinpointing the root cause of Tucker’s dismal season has been as difficult as reading his emotions behind a stoic, reserved facade. The one point of consensus among the coaching staff: the issue is entirely mechanical.

“It’s purely mechanical,” co-hitting coach Robert Van Scoyoc told the California Post recently. “His swing plane is pretty unique, but it’s just not working the way that it used to.”

The problem, as Tucker himself conceded last month, has been finding an adjustment that sticks.

“I feel like I’ve tried just about everything,” he said. “And every time I feel like I’m turning a corner, I get hit with a roadblock.”

Tucker’s swing has always been atypical — both in the way he “lays the bat back” in his stance (which, according to fellow hitting coach Aaron Bates, creates a longer path and “a smaller margin for error”) and how he strides through the ball, launching off his back foot with an almost Scottie Scheffler-esque follow-through.

When synchronized, the mechanics make him one of the game’s most consistent hitters, drawing comparisons from some evaluators to a modern-day Ted Williams. When out of sync, the results are catastrophic.

“I think it’s a slippery slope,” Bates said.

    Statcast Data Confirms the Decline

According to MLB’s Statcast system, Tucker’s rate of “barreled” balls has fallen nearly in half — from 10.8% last year (and 12.9% in 2024) to just 6.3% this season.

For much of the year, Bates said, Tucker struggled to replicate his old inside-out swing path. Instead, he was “cutting down and across the ball,” preventing him from squaring up fastballs or adjusting to off-speed pitches.

The coaching staff’s initial fix involved cycling Tucker through old drills and mental cues that had worked earlier in his career. This time, those familiar remedies failed, leaving a player who once always had offensive answers searching for solutions.

Searching for the ‘Why’ Behind the Regression

Why the old fixes stopped working still confounds the Dodgers. Theories range from a slow adjustment to his new organization to potential lingering effects from the hand fracture he played through last season with the Chicago Cubs.

“It definitely seems like things kind of shifted after [that],” Van Scoyoc said, noting that Tucker also struggled down the stretch in 2025. “So it could be that, but it might not be. We don’t exactly know.”

The clarity that emerged was the need for a new approach. That realization sparked constant trial-and-error during Tucker’s elongated batting-cage sessions in recent weeks.

A Potential Breakthrough: The ‘No-Roll Swing’

Last week, something finally clicked. As Bates described it, Tucker found comfort with the concept of a “no-roll swing” — where instead of flipping his hands at the end of his follow-through, he keeps them more square to the big part of the field.

“Guys who throw right-handed but hit lefty, it’s something they struggle with sometimes, because the right side of their body is the dominant side,” Bates said, noting that the team has made similar adjustments with Tommy Edman, Alex Freeland and Dalton Rushing this season.

In Tucker’s case, the cue helped flatten his swing plane.

“He was missing pitches he thought he needed to get on top of,” Bates said, “and needed to think about swinging high instead of swinging down.”

The adjustment has also kept his barrel in the hitting zone longer, allowing him to readjust to off-speed offerings — one of his career strengths — while better squaring up mistakes left over the plate, like the hanging inside sweeper he drove for a grand slam on Friday.

“There’s a lot more room for error hitting the ball, because you can hit it deep and go the other way or catch it out in front and pull it a little bit more,” Tucker explained. “Just trying to be consistent with that and be as long through the zone as possible.”

Playoff Validation Remains the Ultimate Goal

Whether the adjustment proves to be a genuine breakthrough or another false start in a season that never gained traction, the Dodgers are willing to invest the time to find out. After all, while Tucker’s regular season is beyond salvaging, Van Scoyoc maintained that “he can find it in one swing and then go on a run.”

Thus, they will “ride or die” with him the rest of the way, despite the dismal struggles of the last five months.

“I mean, the numbers probably are what they are, but we’ve got a lot of important games coming next month,” Tucker said, eyeing what he hopes will be validation in the playoffs. “That’s the most important thing … As long as you win the game and kind of contribute to that in some way, that’s all you can really try and do.”

    Added Roberts:

“If you perform at the right time, all is forgotten.”

Sarkisian: Ohio State Should Be Rewarded for Playing Texas

Steve Sarkisian Urges CFP Committee to Reward Ohio State for Nonconference Road Test

AUSTIN, Texas — Following a dramatic 24-23 comeback victory over then-No. 1 Ohio State, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said Monday that the Buckeyes should be rewarded for scheduling a marquee nonconference matchup.

“I hope Ohio State does not get punished for that game Saturday night. They played a heck of a game. I mean, it’s 24-23, they lose to us scoring with 25 seconds to go in the game,” Sarkisian said. “I hope if they end up being a 9-3 team, the committee can appreciate the fact that they came to Austin, Texas, in September when it was 100 degrees and played us in that environment and played a heck of a game.”

Sarkisian referenced last season, when a College Football Playoff spot hinged on Texas’ early 14-7 loss to Ohio State in Columbus.

“Ohio State should be rewarded for playing in this game against us,” Sarkisian said Monday. “Time will tell. And this isn’t crying over spilled milk. I don’t think we got rewarded for going to Columbus last year in Week 1. Hopefully, this year they reward Ohio State for coming and playing in this game with us.”

Ohio State fell to No. 6 in The Associated Press Top 25 after the loss. Sarkisian acknowledged the conversation becomes moot if the Buckeyes finish 11-1, but emphasized his program actively seeks high-stakes games. He noted the Texas brand attracts national television interest and that his roster is built for these moments.

“That’s why you come to Texas, to play in these big games,” Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning said Monday. “I think it helps our team, builds confidence that we can win in any way. We can be down, we can be not playing well, but we can find ways to win. I think that’s what builds confidence in those big games.”

After Texas scored 21 points in the final quarter to secure the win, Manning sprinted across the field in celebration as the clock expired.

“That was the most fun ending to a game I’ve ever had,” he said. “I did not know what to do. I was just running around.”

Sarkisian: Heavyweight Matchups Must Be Valued, Not Penalized

Sarkisian framed the broader issue: marquee nonconference games should strengthen a team’s resume rather than damage it.

“Everybody loves those matchups,” Sarkisian said. “Well, if we want to continue with those matchups, we’ve got to reward the teams for playing in those games … because if they don’t reward them for playing in the game, then all of us start playing FCS, [Group of] 6, and then I don’t think that’s the product that we want in college football.”

He contrasted college football’s subjective selection process with the NFL’s objective criteria.

“We’re not the NFL where it’s all based on, ‘What’s your record? Who did you beat?’” he said. “You make the playoffs based off of opinions of others, essentially, unless you win your conference.”

Texas Reaches No. 1 in AP Poll; Sarkisian Preaches Focus

The victory propelled the Longhorns to No. 1 in this week’s AP poll, marking the third consecutive season Texas has held the top spot. Sarkisian downplayed the ranking two games into the season.

“A week ago, the narrative was we can’t win the big game,” Sarkisian said. “How are we going to beat Ohio State? What are we going to do? Now we’re the best team in the country allegedly and everybody’s patting us on the back. Two polar opposites of where we are. We need to stay right here, and we need to stay enamored with what we need to do.”

  • Nvidia RTX 5090 Vanishes from US Online Retailers; Third-Party Sellers Ask Up to $9,500

Nvidia RTX 5090 Vanishes from US Online Retailers; Third-Party Sellers Ask Up to $9,500

RTX 5090 Prices Surge as Online Inventory Vanishes

Nvidia’s flagship GeForce RTX 5090 has experienced a sharp escalation in pricing over recent weeks, with available online inventory now virtually nonexistent at major retailers. The graphics card, currently the fastest consumer GPU on the market, is only obtainable through third-party sellers on platforms like Newegg and Amazon, where prices range from $6,500 to $9,500—well above the original MSRP.

    Third-Party Sellers Command Extreme Premiums

At Newegg, the least expensive listing is an MSI Ventus 3X offered by Slava Computers for $6,449. The seller holds a 2.8 out of 5 rating based on 239 reviews. On Amazon, an Asus TUF Gaming OC model is listed at $6,395 by Joes Tech Shop, a seller with an 81% positive rating, though recent one-star reviews allege unfulfilled orders. Prices climb significantly higher; a featured Newegg result shows an MSI Ventus 3X OC at $8,699.

This spike represents a dramatic shift from recent months. In June, the median price tracked at $4,299. By early September, the lowest online price recorded was $5,199. In under two weeks, standard online stock has evaporated, and third-party listings have ballooned in price once again.

Scam Risks Rise with High-Demand GPU

Purchasing from these third-party channels carries substantial risk. Beyond the inflated cost, the high-ticket nature of the RTX 5090 has attracted numerous scams:

    • January 2025: 42 Amazon customers paid $999 for an RTX 5090 but received a fanny pack instead.
    • Early September 2025: A seller defrauded two buyers on the secondhand market by shipping graphics cards with the GPU core and memory physically removed, listed near MSRP.

Given these patterns, buying from unverified third-party sellers is strongly discouraged.

    Micro Center Offers In-Store Alternative

The sole reliable exception is Micro Center, which continues to stock the RTX 5090 at prices closer to the average selling price. A local store check showed the cheapest in-stock option at $4,299. Because Micro Center has sold graphics cards exclusively in-person for several years, its inventory has been insulated from the automated online buyouts currently plaguing e-commerce channels.

AI Demand Drives RTX 5090 Shortage

The intense demand stems largely from the AI sector. The RTX 5090 features the GB202 GPU paired with 32GB of GDDR7 memory. For context, Nvidia’s professional RTX Pro 5000 48GB uses the same GPU die but with a third fewer enabled shader units and lower memory bandwidth, yet sells for $7,000 to $9,000. This price disparity makes the RTX 5090 an attractive, cost-effective option for building AI inference servers, even at current inflated prices.

Simultaneously, the card retains its crown as the fastest gaming graphics card available, a lead extended by the recent launch of DLSS 5 Neural Rendering, which the RTX 5090 fully exploits (though playable performance has been confirmed on lower-tier cards in extensive testing).

    Nvidia Contacted for Comment

We have reached out to Nvidia for comment on whether the company has plans to stabilize inventory. This article will be updated upon response.

  • Gervonta Davis Sets Condition for Ryan Garcia Rematch After Conor Benn Knockout Win

Gervonta Davis Sets Condition for Ryan Garcia Rematch After Conor Benn Knockout Win

Gervonta Davis has signaled his willingness to grant Ryan Garcia a rematch, but only under specific conditions that favor the former multi-weight world champion. Davis handed Garcia the first professional loss of his career in April 2023, stopping “King Ry” with a devastating body shot in the seventh round of their lucrative showdown.

Weight Dispute Remains Central to Rematch Talks

That victory came with significant caveats. Garcia agreed to a 136-pound catchweight with a 10-pound rehydration clause to finalize the bout, despite already struggling to make the 140-pound super lightweight limit. Garcia has consistently maintained that the severe weight cut compromised his performance and has publicly campaigned for a second fight on fair terms.

“I pray I get my rematch with Tank one day. I need that one back on even grounds, I need that!!!” Garcia wrote on X, formerly Twitter, in April.

Davis Sets 140-Pound Limit for Potential Sequel

The landscape shifted following Garcia’s explosive knockout victory over Conor Benn in under two rounds on Saturday night. The win positioned Garcia for several high-profile opportunities at welterweight, including a potential unification clash with Teofimo Lopez. However, a rematch with Davis remains a compelling commercial prospect if both sides can agree on a weight class.

Garcia now campaigns at 147 pounds, while Davis is a natural lightweight who has competed as high as super lightweight. Davis has proposed meeting in the middle at 140 pounds.

“I would go to 140[lbs], but not 147[lbs] for him,” Davis said of a possible rematch on Instagram.

    Uncertainty Surrounds Davis’ Return Timeline

Whether Garcia would consider dropping back down to 140 pounds remains questionable. Adding further complexity, Davis has been sidelined since a controversial draw with Lamont Roach in March of last year. A scheduled rematch with Roach was abandoned when Davis signed a lucrative deal to face YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul. That crossover bout subsequently collapsed after a civil lawsuit alleging domestic abuse was filed by Davis’ ex-partner.

The legal proceedings have kept Davis out of the ring, resulting in his designation as WBA lightweight champion in recess. Floyd Schofield Jr. and Lucas Bahdi are scheduled to contest the vacant title on October 10.

  • Tennessee TE Ethan Davis (ACL) Ruled Out for Rest of Season

Tennessee TE Ethan Davis (ACL) Ruled Out for Rest of Season

Tennessee Volunteers starting tight end Ethan Davis will miss the remainder of the 2026 season after suffering a torn ACL in the team’s Week 2 victory over Georgia Tech, head coach Josh Heupel confirmed Monday.

Davis Exits After Strong Start to Senior Campaign

The senior from Atlanta recorded touchdown receptions in each of No. 15 Tennessee’s first two games before limping off the field during the second half of the Vols’ 45-24 road win at Georgia Tech on Saturday. Davis had emerged as a primary target for five-star freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon, ranking as the team’s third-leading receiver with three catches for 43 yards and two scores through the early season wins over Furman and Georgia Tech.

Davis, who missed most of preseason camp in August with an ankle injury, finishes his four-year Tennessee career with 39 receptions for 433 yards and six touchdowns.

Significant Blow Ahead of SEC Opener vs. No. 1 Texas

The injury deals a substantial setback to Heupel’s offense with a critical stretch looming. Tennessee (2-0) concludes non-conference play Saturday against Kennesaw State (7:45 PM ET, SEC Network) before hosting Arch Manning and the top-ranked Longhorns at Neyland Stadium in Week 4 for the SEC opener.

Next Man Up: Tennessee’s Remaining Tight End Options

With Davis sidelined, the Vols’ tight end room is now led by:

    • DaSaahn Brame (Sophomore): ESPN’s No. 194 overall recruit in the 2025 class. Caught six passes for 63 yards as a freshman in 2025. Has played 32 offensive snaps this season, the most among Vols tight ends, per ESPN Research.
    • Trent Thomas (Fourth-year transfer): Joined from South Alabama via the portal this offseason. Logged two receptions for 13 yards in the Week 1 win over Furman.
    • Cole Harrison (Junior): One career reception.
    • Luca Wolf (Freshman): Class of 2026 signee originally from Vienna, Austria.

Heupel Emphasizes “Next Guy Up” Mentality

Addressing the position group’s depth on Monday, Heupel struck a resilient tone while acknowledging the personal disappointment for Davis.

“This game requires the next guy up,” Vols coach Josh Heupel said of Tennessee’s tight end situation Monday “You have heard me talk about that. Our team has heard that, too. You have to be prepared for when your opportunity arises. The next guy, multiple guys have to step up in that role.”

“I hate it for Ethan,” Heupel continued. “The work he has put into it, the growth of the person and the player, that his season is cut short. The next guy has to be prepared and take advantage of the opportunity. You have seen a lot of those guys play already this year. They have to continue to grow and step into that role.”

Tennessee will need immediate production from Brame, Thomas, and the younger depth pieces as they prepare for the biggest test of the early season against the Longhorns.

White House Condemns Aaron Rupar Over Attacks on Trump Staffers

White House Defends Press Wrangler After Journalist’s Criticism Sparks Online Clash

A confrontation between a left-leaning journalist and the White House rapid response team has escalated into a public dispute over the treatment of a young female staffer. The incident began when Aaron Rupar, a self-described leftist commentator who monitors President Donald Trump’s activities online, posted a clip from C-SPAN on his X account Sunday afternoon.

Clip Shows Staffer Directing Press Corps

The footage captured President Trump greeting family members near Air Force One in Ireland before boarding. In the video, White House press wrangler Ellie Acra is seen sternly directing media members to leave the area beneath the aircraft wing, using the standard phrase: “Thank you, press.“

Press wranglers serve a logistical function in both Republican and Democratic administrations, responsible for moving the media to and from designated coverage areas to keep the president on schedule.

Rupar’s Commentary Draws White House Rebuke

Rupar framed the routine interaction negatively, writing: “another [sic] blonde Trump flunkie starts literally shoving photographers away from Trump.” His commentary quickly went viral, prompting a forceful response from the official White House rapid response X account.

The account posted: “This is a press wrangler doing her job — and doing it well. Aaron, meanwhile, is gutter trash (in his 40s) who spends his days hiding behind his keyboard and making disturbing comments about women doing their jobs. Truly a sick freak!“

Journalist Claims Harassment Following Official Response

Following the White House rebuttal, Rupar alleged the official account was inciting harassment. He stated: “For the second straight day, the White House’s taxpayer-funded incitement account is attacking me and oddly mentioning I’m in my 40s (which I know makes me way too old for the president) When they do this it results in a flood of harassing and threatening messages, which of course is the point.”

Pattern of Targeting White House Aide Natalie Harp

The Sunday exchange followed a similar incident on Saturday, when Rupar posted a photo of White House aide Natalie Harp in Ireland with the comment: “Look who made the trip to Ireland!” accompanied by the hashtag #TravelWithNatalie, which he has used to track her movements alongside the president for weeks.

Rupar and other online commentators have insinuated without evidence that Harp and Trump are engaged in an inappropriate relationship. The White House responded to the Saturday post: “President Trump does, in fact, travel with staff. Aaron, on the other hand, is a sick, deluded freak (in his 40s) who sits behind a keyboard and posts creepy things like this.”

    Senator Amplifies Unsubstantiated Claims

The speculation surrounding Harp gained political traction last month when Sen. Jon Ossoff, D-Ga., referenced the aide during a campaign speech. Ossoff remarked: “He doesn’t want to do the job… He wants to build his ballroom and travel with Natalie on their apparently defenseless flying palace gifted by the emir of Qatar.“

Ossoff’s Republican opponent, Rep. Mike Collins, characterized the comment as “sexist” and “misogynist.” The senator has since faced questions about invoking the staffer’s name during a campaign rally.

Fox News Digital reached out to Rupar and the White House for further comment.
