Ethereum Price Outlook: Wallet Linked to Joseph Lubin Moves 133,298 ETH

    Key Highlights

    • A transfer of 133,298 $ETH has drawn attention, but Ethereum has shown no clear immediate selling pressure.
    • $ETH remains above $2,700, while $2,749 to $2,800 represents the key resistance zone before potential moves toward $2,900 and $3,000.
    • Positive capital flows, strong directional indicators and sustained staking demand continue to support Ethereum’s short-term market structure.

Ethereum Price Holds Above $2,700 Despite Large Wallet Transfer

A transfer of 133,298 $ETH has placed the receiving wallet under scrutiny as traders assess Ethereum’s near-term price outlook. Transfers to cryptocurrency exchanges can increase the amount of $ETH immediately available for trading and may create additional selling pressure. Movements between private wallets, however, do not necessarily have the same market impact.

The next destination for the transferred Ethereum will therefore be important. If the receiving address sends the tokens to centralized exchanges, the transaction could take on greater bearish significance. For now, $ETH has shown little immediate reaction and was trading around $2,715 at press time.

Ethereum remains above the $2,700 area, which has repeatedly served as an important short-term battleground during the token’s recent recovery. Ethereum fell below that level after buyers failed to sustain a rally toward $2,800 on Sept. 23. $ETH reached an intraday high near $2,789 before dropping to approximately $2,648, leaving $2,800 as a major resistance level for buyers.

ETF Inflows Cool After Strong Institutional Demand

The latest price resilience comes as institutional demand through U.S. spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds has begun to cool following a strong run of inflows. The funds attracted nearly $690 million across five consecutive sessions through Sept. 25, providing an important source of demand as $ETH attempted to recover.

As crypto.news previously reported, BlackRock’s ETHA accounted for $326.2 million of those weekly inflows, while Fidelity’s FETH attracted $174.1 million. ETF demand helped offset uncertainty surrounding Ethereum’s repeated inability to maintain a move above $2,800.

A separate crypto.news analysis identified the $2,781 to $2,800 area as Ethereum’s immediate upside test. If buyers establish a sustained breakout above that zone, $3,000 could become the next potential target. Until then, the repeated rejection near $2,800 remains a central issue for the recovery.

Ethereum Staking Removes ETH From Immediate Liquid Supply

Staking demand has provided another source of supply absorption. Approximately 43.5 million $ETH was staked as of Sept. 28, representing about 35.66% of Ethereum’s total supply. At the same time, roughly 1.61 million $ETH was waiting to enter staking, compared with approximately 161,000 $ETH waiting to exit.

When crypto.news examined Ethereum’s staking activity, the validator entry queue was nearly 10 times larger than the exit queue. Staked $ETH is removed from immediately liquid supply while it remains committed to the network, although staking demand alone does not determine the token’s future price direction.

Ethereum Technical Analysis: Can $ETH Break Above $2,750?

Ethereum’s daily chart remains constructive despite uncertainty surrounding the 133,298 $ETH wallet movement.

The Directional Movement Index shows the positive directional indicator at 29.17, significantly above the negative directional indicator at 14.70. The Average Directional Index stands at 39.67, above the 25 level commonly used to identify a meaningful directional trend. These readings indicate that buyers continue to hold the directional advantage.

However, ADX has declined from its September peak. This suggests that the prevailing trend remains relatively strong but is losing momentum rather than accelerating. Capital-flow data offers a further positive signal: the 20-day Chaikin Money Flow is at 0.10 after recovering into positive territory following a brief move below zero in September.

A positive CMF indicates that buying pressure remains stronger on a volume-weighted basis. The indicator is also not showing sustained distribution following the transfer of 133,298 $ETH, meaning there is currently no clear technical confirmation that the movement has translated into broad selling pressure.

Key Support and Resistance Levels for Ethereum

On the four-hour chart, Ethereum is trading inside its 20-period Donchian Channel. The upper boundary is $2,748.60, the midpoint is $2,692.15 and the lower boundary is $2,635.69.

Ethereum is trading in the upper half of the channel but has not yet confirmed a breakout. The nine-period Rate of Change is 0.94, placing short-term momentum in positive territory. The reading remains modest, however, and has not yet shown the acceleration that would provide stronger confirmation of a sustained move higher.

A four-hour close above approximately $2,749, combined with an expansion in ROC, could bring the recent $2,800 resistance area back into focus. Ethereum has already struggled around that level several times, with the previous rejection near $2,800 sending $ETH as low as $2,648 before buyers regained control.

A sustained break above $2,800 could open the way toward $2,900 and then the psychologically important $3,000 level. Ethereum must first overcome the resistance that has repeatedly capped its recovery. If the token fails to break above the upper Donchian boundary, $2,692 becomes the first support level to watch.

The more important short-term floor is near $2,636, close to the lower channel boundary and the levels defended by buyers during Ethereum’s Sept. 23 pullback. A break below $2,636 accompanied by a deeper move in ROC territory would weaken the short-term structure. Additional confirmation would come if daily CMF fell below zero and the negative directional indicator began closing its current gap with the positive directional indicator.

    Why This Matters

Ethereum’s immediate outlook depends on whether the large 133,298 $ETH transfer remains a private-wallet transaction or is followed by deposits to centralized exchanges. Exchange transfers can increase readily tradable supply, while continued staking demand and positive capital flows can help absorb supply pressure.

For now, Ethereum’s technical structure has not provided clear evidence that the transfer is generating significant selling. $ETH remains above $2,700, daily capital flows are positive and buyers retain the directional advantage. The $2,749 to $2,800 zone remains the decisive barrier before the market can seriously target $2,900 and $3,000.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    What happened to 133,298 $ETH?

A wallet transferred 133,298 $ETH to a receiving address. The market impact will depend partly on whether the receiving address later sends the tokens to centralized exchanges.

What are Ethereum’s key price levels?

Ethereum faces initial resistance near $2,749, followed by the broader $2,800 area. A sustained break above $2,800 could put $2,900 and $3,000 in focus. Key support levels are approximately $2,692 and $2,636.

Is Ethereum’s current technical structure bullish?

The structure remains constructive, with positive daily capital flows and the positive directional indicator above the negative directional indicator. However, ADX has declined from its September peak, and Ethereum has yet to confirm a breakout above the upper Donchian boundary.
