GTA 6 Netflix Extended Look: Everything Revealed

Rockstar Games has released an official “extended look” at Grand Theft Auto VI, giving fans their most detailed preview yet of the highly anticipated game. The footage arrives more than a decade after the release of its predecessor, following years of speculation, delayed release dates, and leaked gameplay clips.

Rockstar partnered with Netflix to present the preview, and despite exceptionally high expectations, the response from fans has been broadly positive.

    Grand Theft Auto VI characters

The extended look offers the clearest picture yet of the GTA 6 storyline, which follows playable criminals Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.

Dazed magazine described Duval as “an ex-military drug runner” and Lucia as “a fighter fresh out of prison.” The game will feature a ““a Bonnie and Clyde-type narrative,” with players switching between the two characters.

The Netflix footage provides additional insight into their personalities. Jason appears to be a man of few words and says he is more comfortable using a gun than using his words. Lucia is portrayed as both a capable fighter and an experienced criminal.

    GTA 6 plot details

The preview appears to show an early mission in which Jason and Lucia are pulled into Vice City’s criminal underworld. During a botched pickup in an apartment tower, they interact with several characters inside a drug den. The situation escalates when police arrive, leading to a shootout that the pair manages to escape.

Another sequence shows Jason and Lucia working as security for a wealthy client. During an upscale party, armed kidnappers eventually ambush the client.

The presentation, including the gameplay footage, has a highly cinematic style that places a strong emphasis on the game’s story. More detailed plot information has also been revealed elsewhere, although these scenes contain potential spoilers.

GTA 6 graphics and visual detail

The graphics shown in the preview are exceptionally detailed. Character clothing, facial expressions, NPC hair, and the surrounding environments all feature an impressive level of visual fidelity.

The quality is not entirely unexpected given the game’s long development cycle and the enormous expectations surrounding it. Even so, the footage makes a strong impression, particularly in its depiction of characters and the world of Vice City.

    GTA 6 soundtrack and music

Music has always been a major part of the Grand Theft Auto experience, and driving through Vice City while switching between radio stations will once again be central to the game.

Previous GTA 6 trailers featured Tom Petty’s “Love Is a Long Road” and The Pointer Sisters’ “Hot Together.” The Netflix extended look also included music from Kodak Black, Def Leppard, and Phil Collins.

Other artists heard in the preview include Depeche Mode; Birdman featuring Lil Wayne; Captain & Tennille; Cliff Richard; Prefab Sprout; B one El Productor De Oro; Chimbala; Omega; Aluna & Jayda G; Elderbrook & Bob Moses; and The Bellamy Brothers.

    GTA 6 gameplay features

Although the anonymous leaker known as Cyberleek has previously released a large amount of GTA 6 content, Rockstar’s official preview still revealed major gameplay elements that had not been shown before.

For example, the preview includes extensive gameplay footage featuring Lucia as a playable character. Earlier reports had noted the apparent lack of footage showing Lucia in that role.

Previously leaked gameplay also featured a small demon-head icon in the corner of the screen. The new footage suggests that the icon may represent a game mechanic that tracks a character’s morality or honor, although its precise effects remain unclear.

Social media also appears to play a significant role in GTA 6. In one sequence, Lucia steals a car and discovers someone in the trunk doing “the trunk challenge.” Later, the same character rides in the trunk and livestreams while Lucia evades police, with chat messages appearing on screen. The relationship between this feature and the apparent honor system is not yet clear, but social media seems to be integrated into the game world.

    Slow-motion aiming mode

During the mission in which Jason and Lucia protect a client from an armed kidnapping crew, both characters are shown using conventional weapon-aiming mechanics. At one point, however, the game shifts into a slow-motion aiming mode, causing enemy weak points to glow red.

NPC interactions similar to Red Dead Redemption 2

GTA 6 also appears to introduce a new system for interacting with non-playable characters. One example shown in the footage allows the player to pet a dog.

The system appears similar to the NPC interaction mechanics in Red Dead Redemption II, another popular Rockstar Games title.

    Racing and car activities

Racing appears to be a major part of the game. Jason and Lucia are shown competing in multiple environments, including what appears to be a dedicated race track.

Lucia also participates in a dirt-bike race on a dirt track, while another clip depicts drag racing on city streets. Players interested in racing and vehicle customization could have plenty to explore in GTA 6.

    Scuba diving and base jumping

One of the preview’s most striking scenes shows Lucia base jumping from a skyscraper, deploying her parachute, and gliding over Vice City. Another sequence confirms that players will be able to go scuba diving.

    Eating, drinking, and fitness

Dazed magazine reported that eating and drinking will be part of the game, with Jason and Lucia able to gain or lose weight depending on their diet and exercise.

The extended look shows Jason eating while a heart meter appears on screen, as well as Lucia lifting weights. Players can also open refrigerators, drink beer, and smoke cigars through interactive character actions.

The full extended look is scheduled to become available on YouTube at 9 p.m. ET. Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled for release on Nov. 19.

GTA 6 Cyberleak Update: Everything Leaked So Far and What Could Happen Next

Every GTA 6 Leak From Cyberleek So Far

With just one day to go before Grand Theft Auto VI makes its major official debut of sorts on Netflix, the leaker known as Cyberleek continues to release new footage. Shortly after Rockstar Games issued a statement about the GTA 6 leaks on Wednesday, Cyberleek shared story spoilers for the first time by uploading an extended clip of a prologue introducing Lucia Caminos.

Over the past week, someone—or possibly a group of people—using the name Cyberleek has shared a steady stream of short GTA 6 gameplay clips. On Aug. 20, Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, filed subpoenas against Microsoft and Discord in an effort to identify the leaker. The company soon followed with subpoenas against Google and X Corp. Those filings specifically cited “stolen content,” seemingly confirming that at least some of the Cyberleek videos are legitimate.

The GTA 6 leaks offer the first reported glimpses of gameplay from the highly anticipated title. At the same time, numerous AI-generated videos presented as “leaks” are circulating widely on social media. Here is a list of everything Cyberleek has released so far. We are not embedding or linking to the clips, but they can be found on X or Reddit.

All GTA 6 leaks shared by Cyberleek

At the time of publication, Cyberleek had posted 16 gameplay clips and three map screenshots showing different aspects of GTA 6, including glimpses of cutscenes. The leaker initially avoided major plot spoilers, but the latest release includes story details. Proceed carefully if you want to avoid spoilers.

    • Map sneak peek 1: A small, cropped section of the in-game world map showing a location called Dalton Island.
    • Map sneak peek 2: Another cropped map section featuring Tequesta Retreat, Gloriana Key, and Catalan Key.
    • Basketball video: Protagonist Jason Duval throws a basketball into a hoop during a mini-game.
    • Full map: An alleged view of the complete in-game map.
    • Random video 1: Jason drives around briefly before beating up a truck driver.
    • Taser video: Jason drives at night, steals a security guard’s taser, and uses it on him. He then repeatedly kicks the guard while he is on the ground.
    • Junkies video: The clip appears to show a healing drug called Zombix. A tooltip says Zombix’s effects weaken over time if the player uses it too frequently.
    • Plane video: Jason flies a plane over Vice City, with much of the game world visible below. At the end, the player shoots the word “LEEK” into a wall with bullets, suggesting that the leaker has access to a playable build of the game.
    • Hypercar part 1: Jason drives a high-end sports car around Vice City.
    • Hypercar part 2: Jason continues driving the sports car before carrying out an armed robbery.
    • Strip club: Jason walks around a strip club, followed by a short clip from an in-game cutscene.
    • Gas station: Jason causes trouble at a gas station, steals a truck carrying gasoline, and crashes and dies. The clip also shows more of the preceding cutscene.
    • Plane video 2: Jason flies a plane over Vice City at night.
    • Nudist colony: Jason explores a nudist hangout where the NPCs are nude and attacks several NPCs.
    • Nightclub: Jason walks around the interior of a nightclub in a largely uneventful clip.
    • Beach cycling: Jason rides a bicycle along a beach crowded with NPCs.
    • Video game store: Jason walks around a video game store lined with shelves of fictional game boxes.
    • How does Cyberleek drive?: Jason steals a hot rod and evades the police. The clip ends with a cutscene showing Lucia Caminos, the game’s second playable character, for the first time. Caminos talks about someone who “drives like a bitch.”
    • Lucia prologue: A four-and-a-half-minute prologue introduces Caminos and includes minor story spoilers.

Are the Cyberleek GTA 6 videos real?

There is no independent authentication for any of the Cyberleek videos, and convincing AI-generated footage is now easy to produce. However, the clips appear fairly credible to people familiar with the GTA series. The games have a distinctive style of movement, and that movement appears to be recreated remarkably well in the videos. Character movement and NPC interactions both look consistent with a modern Rockstar Games title.

Rockstar Games also acknowledged the leak in a statement, calling it “heartbreaking.” The statement appears to all but confirm that the leaked gameplay clips are genuine.

    What could Cyberleek release next?

Cyberleek has been running polls on its website that allow people to use cryptocurrency to vote on which material should be leaked next. In recent days, the leaker teased footage featuring Lucia Caminos. On Wednesday, Cyberleek followed through by releasing a short cutscene with Caminos and then an extended look at the character’s prologue.

Cyberleek had no active polls online at the time of writing. The leaker’s latest comments suggest that more videos featuring Caminos could be released soon.

Alternatively, fans can wait for official gameplay footage, which is scheduled to debut on Netflix on Aug. 27.

Mashable contacted Rockstar and Take-Two repeatedly with questions about the leaks and said it would update the story if it received a response.

GTA 6 Leaks Reveal Strip Club Setting and New Slow-Motion Camera

Rockstar Games’ highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI continues to face an unprecedented wave of leaks, with new gameplay footage surfacing this week following the initial trailer breach three years ago. The latest leak showcases protagonist Jason Duval robbing a gas station convenience store, fleeing in a vehicle, experiencing a slow-motion car crash, and ultimately escaping into a strip club.

    Leaked Gameplay Reveals New Mechanics

While many gameplay elements will feel familiar to longtime series fans, the slow-motion camera interrupting regular game speed represents a notable novelty. This mechanic appears to be a feature Rockstar Games intended to keep under wraps, especially considering the studio has yet to officially reveal any actual gameplay footage. The developer has been saving its major gameplay reveal for a Netflix launch scheduled for Thursday, Aug. 27 at 3 p.m. ET—an unprecedented distribution strategy for a game of this magnitude.

    Legal Action and Industry Support

Behind the scenes, Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive are aggressively pursuing the source of these breaches. A federal court has reportedly granted subpoenas for GitHub, Microsoft, and Discord server records to aid in identifying the culprits. The effort has drawn support from across the industry, including Xbox CTO Scott Van Vliet, who posted on X: “[Xbox] are working closely with Take-Two and Rockstar Games to support efforts to protect creative works and intellectual property.”

    Leaker Monetizes Stolen Footage

The primary leaker, operating under the alias Cyberleeks, has demonstrated remarkable audacity by reportedly charging up to $165,000 in cryptocurrency for advertising placements within the leaked footage, according to Yahoo Tech. This brazen monetization of stolen intellectual property underscores the sophistication of the breach.

    Leaks Fuel Record-Breaking Anticipation

Despite the significant frustration these leaks cause for Rockstar’s development team, they may inadvertently amplify hype for what is widely projected to be the largest video game launch in history. The continuous drip of unauthorized content keeps GTA VI at the center of gaming discourse, potentially expanding its audience reach ahead of any official marketing campaign.
