    Cyberleek, the name used by an apparent group or individual sharing Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay clips, has released at least 16 videos and three map screenshots. The leaks offer glimpses of gameplay, cutscenes, locations and both playable protagonists ahead of the game’s official promotional footage.

    Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of GTA developer Rockstar Games, filed subpoenas against Microsoft and Discord on Aug. 20 in an effort to identify the leaker. The company later filed subpoenas against Google and X Corp. The legal filings referred to “stolen content,” apparently confirming that at least some of the Cyberleek videos are genuine.

    The leaks provided the first substantial look at GTA 6 gameplay before Thursday’s “Extended Look” appeared on Netflix. At the same time, large numbers of AI-generated videos falsely presented as GTA 6 leaks have circulated across social media. The clips below are not embedded or linked, but they can be found on X and Reddit.

    Cyberleek’s posts show different aspects of GTA 6, including portions of the game’s map and several cutscenes. The latest release also contains minor story spoilers.

    • Map sneak peek 1: A small, cropped section of the in-game map showing a location called Dalton Island.
    • Map sneak peek 2: Another cropped map section showing Tequesta Retreat, Gloriana Key and Catalan Key.
    • Basketball video: Jason Duval throws a basketball into a hoop during a mini-game.
    • Full map: An alleged view of the entire in-game map.
    • Random video 1: Jason drives around briefly before beating up a truck driver.
    • Taser video: Jason drives at night, steals a security guard’s taser and uses it on him. He then repeatedly kicks the guard while he is on the ground.
    • Junkies video: The clip appears to show a healing drug called Zombix. A tooltip says Zombix’s effects weaken over time if the player uses it too frequently.
    • Plane video: Jason flies a plane over Vice City, with much of the game world visible below. At the end, the player shoots the word “LEEK” into a wall, suggesting the leaker had access to a playable build.
    • Hypercar part 1: Jason drives a high-end sports car around Vice City.
    • Hypercar part 2: Jason continues driving the sports car before carrying out an armed robbery.
    • Strip club: Jason walks around a strip club, followed by a short clip from an in-game cutscene.
    • Gas station: Jason causes trouble at a gas station, steals a truck loaded with gasoline and crashes, resulting in his death. The clip also shows more of the earlier cutscene.
    • Plane video 2: Jason flies a plane over Vice City at night.
    • Nudist colony: Jason explores a nudist hangout, where the non-player characters are nude, and attacks NPCs.
    • Nightclub: Jason walks around the interior of a nightclub in a largely uneventful clip.

    • Video game store: Jason walks through a video game store lined with shelves of fake game boxes.
    • How does Cyberleek drive?: Jason steals a hot rod and evades police. The clip ends with the first appearance of Lucia Caminos, GTA 6’s second playable character. Caminos talks about someone who “drives like a bitch.”
    • Lucia prologue: A four-and-a-half-minute video introducing Caminos, including minor story spoilers.

    What could Cyberleek release next?

    Cyberleek previously ran polls on its website that allowed users to pay in cryptocurrency to vote on the content leaked next. In recent days, the group had teased footage featuring Lucia Caminos. On Wednesday, it released a short cutscene featuring Caminos, followed by an extended look at her prologue.

    That appears to have been Cyberleek’s final release. The group’s crypto meme coin appears to have been fully cashed out for approximately $250,000, and its value has fallen to a tiny fraction of its previous level. Cyberleek also went silent before Thursday’s official Netflix presentation, with no new leaks appearing since Wednesday.

    GTA 6 gameplay is now officially available

    The official Netflix presentation is now available on YouTube in its full 26-minute form. It includes details Cyberleek never showed, including gameplay footage of Lucia and other scenes. Anyone looking for a reliable view of how GTA 6 plays is likely better served by the official video than by the leaked clips.

The company soon followed with subpoenas against Google and X Corp. Those filings specifically cited “stolen content,” seemingly confirming that at least some of the Cyberleek videos are legitimate.

    The GTA 6 leaks offer the first reported glimpses of gameplay from the highly anticipated title.     Are the Cyberleek GTA 6 videos real?

    There is no independent authentication for any of the Cyberleek videos, and convincing AI-generated footage is now easy to produce. However, the clips appear fairly credible to people familiar with the GTA series. The games have a distinctive style of movement, and that movement appears to be recreated remarkably well in the videos. Character movement and NPC interactions both look consistent with a modern Rockstar Games title.

    Rockstar Games also acknowledged the leak in a statement, calling it “heartbreaking.” The statement appears to all but confirm that the leaked gameplay clips are genuine.

    What could Cyberleek release next?

    Cyberleek has been running polls on its website that allow people to use cryptocurrency to vote on which material should be leaked next. In recent days, the leaker teased footage featuring Lucia Caminos. On Wednesday, Cyberleek followed through by releasing a short cutscene with Caminos and then an extended look at the character’s prologue.

    Cyberleek had no active polls online at the time of writing. The leaker’s latest comments suggest that more videos featuring Caminos could be released soon.

    Alternatively, fans can wait for official gameplay footage, which is scheduled to debut on Netflix on Aug. 27.

    Mashable contacted Rockstar and Take-Two repeatedly with questions about the leaks and said it would update the story if it received a response.

    • More supercar footage: The protagonist, Jason, drives a high-end sports car before taking part in an armed robbery.
    • Strip club: The protagonist walks around an in-game strip club, followed by a brief section of a cutscene.
    • Gas station: The protagonist causes chaos at a gas station and steals a truck. The truck bed is filled with gasoline before the vehicle crashes and explodes. Another clip from the same cutscene is also shown.
    • Nudist colony: The protagonist explores what appears to be a nudist gathering spot and attacks non-player characters.

    The nudist colony video appeared to have won the latest poll on Cyberleek’s website. Users can vote in the poll by spending cryptocurrency.

    It remains unclear how much of Grand Theft Auto VI Cyberleek has accessed or how the material was obtained. Although the videos have not been authenticated, subpoenas recently filed by Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games’ parent company, specifically refer to stolen material, apparently lending support to the legitimacy of the leaks.

    Most likely, the leaker has access to an older build of the game that may not match the version Rockstar Games plans to show later this week.

    “The leaks are a nothing burger.”

    Vermeij said Rockstar’s marketing strategy is to keep its games under wraps for longer than other publishers, adding that the incident appears to involve only some footage escaping.

    “90 [percent] of future players don’t spend their time on the internet looking for video snippets. They don’t have the time and don’t want spoilers,”

    he continued.

    “I imagine the teams are a little annoyed about it but not more than that.”

    Former Rockstar director compares GTA 6 leaks with Hot Coffee controversy

    Vermeij also referred to the Hot Coffee controversy, which involved a hidden sex-scene minigame in 2004’s Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. Rockstar and Take-Two settled a lawsuit related to the controversy.

    “I was there during Hot Coffee,”

    Vermeij wrote, describing the incident as a “nightmare” for Rockstar’s New York office. He said it had less of an impact on Rockstar North and argued that the current GTA 6 leaks are far less significant.

    “It looks like gta6 will be phenomenal and sell for the next 15 years or so. The leaks are just a tiny blip,”

    he concluded.
