    Ravens Place Rookie Running Back Adam Randall on Injured Reserve

    The Baltimore Ravens placed rookie running back Adam Randall on injured reserve with a designation to return Sunday, delaying the start of the fifth-round pick’s first NFL regular season.

    Randall must miss at least the Ravens’ first four games before he can be activated. Baltimore has not disclosed the specific injury that led to the move.

    Ravens use return designation on Adam Randall

    Baltimore used one of the two return designations available during the NFL’s final roster reduction on Randall. Cornerback Bilhal Kone received the other designation.

    The NFL’s 2026 calendar allows teams to place up to two players on an applicable reserve list during the final roster reduction while designating them to return. Those players do not need to occupy spots on the active roster before being transferred to injured reserve.

    The Ravens selected Randall with the No. 174 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft after he successfully transitioned from wide receiver to running back at Clemson. He led the Tigers with 814 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns during his final college season, while adding 36 receptions for 254 yards and three scores.

    Adam Randall showed promise during the preseason

    Randall displayed the combination of size and versatility that attracted Baltimore during the preseason. He rushed for 46 yards and a touchdown in his debut against Philadelphia before delivering a 24-yard run against Washington that included a powerful stiff-arm.

    The injured-reserve move interrupts that early momentum but does not end Randall’s rookie season. He can return after missing the required four games and receiving medical clearance.

    Derrick Henry, Justice Hill and Rasheen Ali are the three running backs currently on Baltimore’s active roster. Randall’s placement on injured reserve also leaves the Ravens with an open active-roster position that could be used on a waiver claim or veteran addition.
