Jaguars, Parker Washington Unlikely to Reach Contract Deal, Source Says

The Jacksonville Jaguars and wide receiver Parker Washington appear unlikely to finalize a contract extension before the 2026 regular season begins, according to a source who spoke with NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe.

Extension Talks Stall Despite Wilson Comparable

The Jaguars explored a deal for Washington in the same range as the three-year, $75 million contract Michael Wilson recently signed with the Arizona Cardinals, the source told Wolfe. However, the two sides did not have an agreement in place as of Saturday night.

Washington Betting on Himself in Pivotal Season

Washington, 24, is entering the final year of his rookie contract after a breakout 2025 campaign. The 2023 sixth-round draft pick is betting on his performance this season to increase his long-term value.

    Washington Focused on the Field

Speaking Wednesday, Washington emphasized his concentration on the upcoming season regardless of contract negotiations.

“To me, my job is to come out here and stay ready to go, just do my job, be the best receiver I can be and make plays for the team,” Washington said, according to Jaguars.com. “I’m just focused on me, being the best teammate I can be and having fun out here.”

“If we get it done, that’s cool. If not, I’m going to go out Sunday and leave my best out there.”

    Career-High Production in 2025

Washington posted career highs across the board last season, recording 58 receptions for 847 yards and five touchdowns. He also contributed two punt-return touchdowns, showcasing his versatility as a playmaker.

Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks Visit Abilene Christian Wildcats in Key Early-Season FCS Showdown

The undefeated Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks travel to Abilene on Saturday, September 12, 2026, for a high-stakes FCS matchup against the Abilene Christian Wildcats. Both programs met in last year’s playoffs, adding extra narrative weight to this early-season contest.

Lumberjacks Carry Championship Momentum Into 2026

Stephen F. Austin enters the game with a 2-0 record after decisive victories over McNeese State (38-27) and East Texas A&M (44-7). Head coach Colby Carthel has guided the program to immediate success following a 2025 campaign that culminated in a Southland Conference championship. The Lumberjacks have won seven of their last ten meetings with Abilene Christian, including a thrilling 41-34 victory in the second round of the 2025 FCS playoffs that ended the Wildcats’ season.

Wildcats Seek First Win Before Home Crowd

Abilene Christian (0-2) is searching for its first victory after a difficult opening slate. The Wildcats fell 21-14 at Lamar before dropping a 33-10 decision at No. 13 Texas Tech. Saturday marks ACU’s first home game of the season, a venue where they have historically fared well against SFA, holding an 8-4 record in the series at home. The matchup offers Abilene Christian a prime opportunity to respond to its early adversity while exacting a measure of revenge for last year’s playoff exit.

The service provides access to college football action throughout the season across ESPN’s family of networks, including ESPN+, ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, SEC Network, ACC Network, SEC Network+, ACC Network Extra, ESPN3, and ESPNEWS. Steam Frame First Look Video Accidentally Leaked by Linus Tech Tips

Linus Media Group’s ShortCircuit Leaks Early Steam Frame Hands-On Before Valve Embargo Lifts

YouTube technology channel ShortCircuit, operated by Linus Media Group, accidentally published its first impressions video of Valve’s upcoming Steam Frame VR headset ahead of the official embargo. The premature upload remained live long enough for viewers to download copies, and clips are now circulating widely across social media platforms despite the original video being removed.

Detailed Look at Hardware, Setup, and Accessories

The leaked footage, framed as the team’s initial 30 minutes with the device, provides a comprehensive early look at the headset. The video walks through box contents, the setup process, fit adjustments, and a range test, offering the most detailed public glimpse of the hardware to date.

On the pricing front, the video reveals that the Ergonomics Accessories Kit will retail for $60 as a separate purchase. This kit includes an additional headset strap and controller straps. The footage also confirms that the Steam Frame’s controllers will use replaceable batteries, a departure from the built-in rechargeable cells found on the Valve Index controllers.

    Launch Timeline Signals Imminent Release

Valve has been steadily moving toward launch over recent weeks, updating Steam backend packages and deploying a stable SteamVR update. While the leaked video does not confirm the Steam Frame’s final price—which Valve has not yet announced—industry insiders have previously pointed to September 14 as a possible release date. With backend preparations underway and embargoed content already in creators’ hands, an official announcement appears imminent.

  • South Africa vs New Zealand: Fourth and Final Rugby Union Test – Live Coverage

South Africa vs New Zealand: Fourth and Final Rugby Union Test – Live Coverage

Springboks vs All Blacks: Series Decider Moves to Baltimore for Historic First

The Rugby Championship reaches its climax as South Africa and New Zealand meet for a fourth and decisive Test—this time not in Johannesburg, Cape Town, or Soweto, but under the lights of M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore. With the series tied 1-1, Saturday’s showdown (kick-off 10 pm BST / 5 pm local) will crown the outright winner of rugby’s greatest rivalry.

Why Baltimore? Money, Growth, and Brand Expansion

Staging a Springbok–All Black decider in an NFL venue raises eyebrows. The answer, as the preamble notes, comes in three parts: revenue, World Rugby’s 2031 World Cup strategy, and the two unions’ own commercial ambitions. Reports suggest the Baltimore fixture generates up to $8 million more than a South African venue would, with SA Rugby and New Zealand Rugby splitting tour revenue 50-50. World Rugby, which assisted marketing and logistics, views the U.S. as a critical growth market ahead of the 2031 men’s World Cup. Both unions, meanwhile, see the United States as an “untapped market” for brand expansion—New Zealand has already played two Tests there against Ireland, while South Africa has effectively made Twickenham a second home.

As the live blog put it: “Why is this game between South Africa and New Zealand being played in Baltimore? Good question. There are three answers.”

    Venue Snapshot: M&T Bank Stadium

    • Capacity: 71,000 (home of the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens)
    • Surface: Temporary pitch laid over the Ravens’ field
    • Local nickname: “The Bank”
    • Premium inventory: 142 suites, 8,000+ club seats
    • Ownership: Steve Bisciotti (net worth >$10 billion), majority owner since 2004

Early observations note a narrower-than-standard rugby pitch and a very small in-goal area—clearing kicks could be “a precarious act.” The stands showed noticeably more Springbok jerseys than All Black ones.

Team News: Mo’unga Returns, Taylor Captains, Willemse Back for Boks

New Zealand – Seven Changes, Mo’unga at 10

Dave Rennie rings the changes. The headline: Richie Mo’unga starts at fly-half for the first time since the 2023 World Cup final, where “he was magnificent.” Codie Taylor—”in his first game as Test skipper”—leads the side after Ardie Savea was ruled out with injury sustained against Malcolm Marx. A new front row pairs Ethan de Groot and Fletcher Newell with Taylor; Patrick Tuipulotu joins Sam Darry in the second row. Tupou Vaa’i shifts to blindside, Ethan Blackadder starts at openside, Peter Lakai at No. 8. Anton Lienert-Brown replaces injured Quinn Tupaea at inside centre; Josh Moorby comes in for Leroy Carter on the wing. Veterans Rieko Ioane and Beauden Barrett provide bench impact.

New Zealand XV: Damian McKenzie; Will Jordan, Anton Lienert-Brown, Jordie Barrett, Josh Moorby; Richie Mo’unga, Cam Roigard; Ethan de Groot, Codie Taylor (c), Fletcher Newell, Patrick Tuipulotu, Sam Darry, Tupou Vaa’i, Ethan Blackadder, Peter Lakai. Replacements: Asafo Aumua, Xavier Numia, Tyrel Lomax, Josh Lord, Wallace Sititi, Kyle Preston, Rieko Ioane, Beauden Barrett.

South Africa – Two Changes, Continuity Otherwise

Rassie Erasmus keeps faith with the side that won in Soweto. Damian Willemse returns at full-back for the injured Cheslin Kolbe (broken jaw). Morné van den Berg earns a start at scrum-half, with Cobus Reinach dropping to the bench. Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu retains the No. 10 jersey; Jesse Kriel and Damian de Allende continue at centre. The “formidable front row” of Ox Nché, Malcolm Marx and Wilco Louw stays intact, backed by Eben Etzebeth and Ruan Nortjé. The back-row trio of Pieter-Steph du Toit, Siya Kolisi (captain) and Jasper Wiese extends its record as the most-capped in Springbok history.

South Africa XV: Damian Willemse; Kurt-Lee Arendse, Jesse Kriel, Damian de Allende, Ethan Hooker; Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu, Morné van den Berg; Ox Nche, Malcolm Marx, Wilco Louw, Eben Etzebeth, Ruan Nortje, Siya Kolisi (c), Pieter-Steph du Toit, Jasper Wiese. Replacements: Deon Fourie, Gerhard Steenekamp, Thomas du Toit, Lood de Jager, André Esterhuizen, Cameron Hanekom, Cobus Reinach, Manie Libbok.

Series Narrative: Six Weeks, Three Countries, One Trophy

The rivalry has delivered on every promise. New Zealand opened with three dominant warm-up wins—over the Stormers (38-31), Sharks (54-0), and Bulls (50-19)—before stunning the Boks 33-16 in Johannesburg. South Africa responded with a 33-26 victory in Cape Town, then ground out a 29-24 win in Soweto where “the Boks’ extra heft proved the difference.” Now, the series stands at 1-1. A New Zealand win in Baltimore splits the trophy; a South Africa win gives the Springboks outright ownership.

As Daniel Gallan wrote in the preamble: “They could play on the far side of Uranus and they would still want to tear lumps out of each other.”

    Matchday Atmosphere

Anthems brought “loads of emotion from the players.” Codie Taylor led the haka in his captaincy debut. The Star-Spangled Banner opened proceedings. Then, as the live blog captured: “One last time, here we go!” Mo’unga kicked off to start the decider.

Early action: “Electric start from the Boks! They secure the kick-off and play a nifty little wraparound move with van den Berg sparking a break down the left with Hooker in the tram. Nche made ground with a strong run before the ABs strayed off-side. Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu (SFM) tried to dink a kick to Arendse on the right wing but it didn’t stick. So SFM finds touch in ABs half.”

One observer cautioned against dismissing the fixture as a mere exhibition: “Hate to venture into cliche land, but try telling them that this is just a ‘money game’.”

  • Chris Kreider Signs One-Year Contract

    Chris Kreider Signs One-Year Contract

Canadiens Sign Veteran Forward Chris Kreider to One-Year Contract for 2026-27 Season

GATINEAU — Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced Saturday that the club has agreed to terms with forward Chris Kreider on a one-year contract covering the 2026-27 NHL season.

Kreider Brings Proven Scoring Pedigree to Montreal

The 35-year-old winger arrives after a productive 2025-26 campaign with the Anaheim Ducks, where he appeared in 75 games and recorded 50 points (22 goals, 28 assists) along with 34 penalty minutes. Kreider finished second on the Ducks with eight power-play goals and reached the 20-goal plateau for the eighth consecutive season — a testament to his consistency and finishing ability.

On November 30, 2025, Kreider notched the 600th point of his NHL career in a game against the Chicago Blackhawks, joining an exclusive tier of active players to reach the milestone.

    Career Highlights and League Rankings

Since debuting in 2012-13, Kreider has compiled 632 points (348 goals, 284 assists) in 958 regular-season games split between the New York Rangers and Anaheim Ducks. Among all NHL skaters since his rookie year, he ranks:

    • 15th in goals (348)
    • 10th in power-play goals (124)

A native of Boxford, Massachusetts, Kreider posted career highs of 52 goals (including a league-leading 26 on the power play) and 77 points during the 2021-22 season with the Rangers.

    Draft History and Organizational Fit

Originally selected by the New York Rangers in the first round (19th overall) of the 2009 NHL Draft, Kreider spent the first decade-plus of his career with the organization before moving to Anaheim. His addition gives Montreal a veteran net-front presence, power-play specialist, and leadership voice as the Canadiens continue reshaping their forward corps.

The one-year term provides flexibility for both sides while addressing an immediate need for goal-scoring experience on the wing.

South Africa vs New Zealand: Fourth Test Live – Lineups, Score Updates and Rugby Championship Showdown

The Springboks and the All Blacks renew rugby’s greatest rivalry this weekend as they clash in the fourth Test of their 2024 series. With the series finely poised, both nations have named strong starting XVs and impactful benches for what promises to be a decisive encounter at Ellis Park.

South Africa Team News: Experience and Power in the Pack

Head coach Rassie Erasmus has selected a blend of World Cup winners and rising stars for the home side. The backline features Aphelele Fassi at fullback, with Cheslin Kolbe and Kurt-Lee Arendse on the wings. Damian de Allende and Jesse Kriel form a formidable midfield partnership, while Manie Libbok and Cobus Reinach pull the strings at half-back.

The forward pack is anchored by a world-class front row of Ox Nche, Malcolm Marx, and Frans Malherbe. Eben Etzebeth and RG Snyman provide immense power in the second row, while the loose trio of Pieter-Steph du Toit, Kwagga Smith, and Jasper Wiese offers a potent mix of breakdown threat and ball-carrying ability. Captain Siya Kolisi leads the side from openside flanker.

    Springboks Replacements

The “Bomb Squad” remains a tactical weapon. Bongi Mbonambi, Gerhard Steenekamp, and Vincent Koch provide front-row reinforcement, with Ben-Jason Dixon and Elrigh Louw covering the engine room and back row. Grant Williams, Handré Pollard, and Lukhanyo Am offer versatile backline options off the bench.

New Zealand Team News: Youthful Exuberance Meets Veteran Class

Scott Robertson’s All Blacks lineup showcases an exciting new generation. Will Jordan starts at fullback, supported by Sevu Reece and Mark Telea on the flanks. The midfield pairs Jordie Barrett with Anton Lienert-Brown, while Beauden Barrett directs play at first five-eighth alongside halfback Cortez Ratima.

The forward pack is spearheaded by hooker Codie Taylor and props Ethan de Groot and Tamaiti Williams. Scott Barrett captains the side from lock alongside Tupou Vaa’i. A dynamic loose forward trio of Ethan Blackadder, Sam Cane, and Wallace Sititi completes the starting XV.

    All Blacks Replacements

New Zealand’s bench packs significant punch. Asafo Aumua and George Bower bolster the front row, with Josh Lord and Samipeni Finau providing forward cover. TJ Perenara brings vast experience at halfback, while Damian McKenzie and Billy Proctor offer attacking spark in the backs.

    Match Context and Stakes

This fourth Test serves as the series decider after both teams claimed victories in the opening three matches. The Springboks will rely on their trademark set-piece dominance and aerial game, while the All Blacks aim to impose a high-tempo, offload-heavy style. The breakdown battle between Kolisi, Du Toit, and Wiese against Cane, Blackadder, and Sititi will likely determine the outcome.

Kick-off is scheduled for 17:00 local time (15:00 BST) at Ellis Park, Johannesburg. Follow our live text commentary for minute-by-minute updates, analysis, and reaction throughout the match.

Sabalenka enters the match targeting a historic third consecutive US Open title and her fifth Grand Slam championship overall. Rybakina, meanwhile, pursues her third major title and faces a formidable challenge against the tournament’s dominant force.

Head-to-Head History and Grand Slam Finals Split

The rivals have contested numerous matches on tour, with Sabalenka holding a narrow 10–7 advantage in their all-time head-to-head record. Their Grand Slam final encounters are evenly divided: Sabalenka captured the 2023 Australian Open title, while Rybakina prevailed in their 2026 Australian Open rematch.

Malika Andrews Leads ESPN’s US Open Coverage

Familiar ESPN personality Malika Andrews is among the network’s lead voices for the championship broadcast. The Emmy Award-winning sports journalist has built her reputation covering basketball, hosting flagship programs including NBA Today, NBA Countdown, and WNBA Countdown.

From Print Journalism to Broadcasting History

Andrews began her career as a print reporter for The New York Times and the Chicago Tribune before joining ESPN in 2018. She made broadcasting history in 2022 as the first woman to host the live NBA Draft telecast. Her portfolio has since expanded to include lead roles on ESPN’s tennis coverage, anchoring live broadcasts from both the US Open and Australian Open.

  • Wendy Williams’ Producer: Daytime TV Lacks Her Unique Irreverence

Wendy Williams’ Producer: Daytime TV Lacks Her Unique Irreverence

Daytime television still bears the mark of The Wendy Williams Show years after its conclusion, according to Norman Baker, a former producer on the program who later joined Sherri. In a recent interview, Baker reflected on Williams’ singular impact and why the void she left remains unfilled.

A Voice That Defined an Era

Speaking on the Thursday, September 10 episode of Awf the Record, Baker emphasized that Williams’ approach to daytime talk was unprecedented.

“I feel like no one’s been able to fill the void that she created,” Baker said during his appearance on the Thursday, September 10, episode of Awf the Record. “I feel like she was so irreverent and she spoke her mind and like nobody really is allowed to do that, especially a Black woman. Being allowed to do that on daytime television is a big deal and I feel like nobody really does that anymore, you know?”

For 13 seasons, Williams built a reputation on quick wit and unfiltered commentary, regularly competing with The Ellen DeGeneres Show for the top spot in syndicated talk ratings. Clips from the series continue to circulate widely on social media platforms, giving the show what Baker described as “a whole other life now.”

Realizing the Historical Weight in Retrospect

Baker noted that the cultural significance of the production wasn’t fully apparent during its run.

“When you’re doing it, you don’t really realize the gravity of what you’re doing,” he explained. “And when the show ended, people are still coming up to me and talking about things that they see on TikTok…But when we were doing it, I never really realized what we were doing and we were kind of making history, I guess.”

He added a final thought on the show’s legacy:

“I just want people to continue to celebrate that crazy show because we had no idea that we were making something good.”

    From Launch to Transition

Williams launched her self-titled talk show in July 2008. In 2021, she was forced to take an indefinite leave of absence due to medical issues. Sherri Shepherd was subsequently tapped as her replacement, taking over the time slot with her own program.
